Abstract: ARTICLE The work consists of an introduction, four chapters, conclusions. The full scope of work is 99 pages, 32 figures, 2 appendices. The list of sources used includes 45 names. The master’s scientific work is devoted to research of features of development of design of web sites of the Ukrainian museums. The study analyzes the features of the museum as a cultural phenomenon and the peculiarities of the construction of the Ukrainian museum website, which requires adaptation and refinement to the specifics of the museum. There are practical recommendations for designing your own museum website, compliance with which will help to create an attractive and convenient web resource, attract new visitors, promote national cultural heritage and bring it to the international arena. The object of research is the website of the art museum. The subject of the study is the design features of the website and user interface of the art museum. The purpose of the study is to identify patterns of design of art museum websites and design features of the Ukrainian Art Museum. The following research methods were used to solve the tasks: empirical, comparison, abstraction, method of deduction, system, systematization, artistic-compositional, functional, modeling. The first section is devoted to historiography and coverage of the development of Ukrainian museums in the modern world and in the context of digitalization. A review of literary sources of foreign and domestic publications on this topic. The current state and problems of integration of the Ukrainian Art Museum into the modern web space are studied. The role of the website in the work and functioning of the Ukrainian museum is studied. Problems and main factors influencing the effective integration of Ukrainian museums into the modern web space are identified. The second section describes the features of the formation of an effective web interface of the museum, explores current trends in web design and artistic and compositional features of the design of the museum website. The psychological aspects of user interaction with the website interface are analyzed, the importance of usability in the process of web design development is revealed. Also, the issue of classification of museum websites is investigated and the author’s classification is offered. The compositional analysis of domestic and foreign websites of art museums is carried out, the positive and negative sides of the design are revealed. The third section formulates the scientific and methodological provisions of the design of the art museum website. Peculiarities of museum specifics in the design of the website of the Ukrainian Art Museum, criteria for the effectiveness of design in the functioning of the museum website are revealed. The process of forming the composition of the web page and the strategy of design design of graphic elements of the website of the Ukrainian museum are considered. The fourth section focuses on the implementation of the results of the study in the modern web design of the site of the Ukrainian National Museum "Kyiv Art Gallery". The requirements for the development and application of graphic and compositional elements of the website were determined, the results of the study were implemented in the author’s developments.
