Abstract: Yavorskyi О.Y., Korchak B.O. (supervisor). Man-made safety in pyrolysis processes of used car tires. Qualification work for Master’s degree - Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2023. The qualification work for Master’s degree is devoted to the current topic of increasing the level of man-made safety in pyrolysis processes of used car tires. Car tires are a serious environmental problem, the substances used in the production, processing and disposal of tires are extremely toxic to humans and the environment! Car tires have a rather complicated chemical composition, which includes synthetic and natural rubber, steel, graphite, polystyrene, as well as synthetic oils, nylon and glue. The toxins released by tire decomposition, intentional burning or accidental fires are highly polluting to water, air and soil. Despite the fact that the issue of utilization of used car tires is supposedly regulated at the legislative level, as well as by various regulatory documents in our country, and even special places for storage of used tires have been allocated, illegal dumping still continues, causing enormous damage to the environment. In Europe, about 2 million tons of used tires are generated annually. The total volume of their recycling does not exceed 30%. The volume of recycling of used tires in Japan is 87%, in the USA 20-30%, and in Germany 50.5%. In Ukraine, 150 thousand tons of worn-out tires are produced annually, and only 8% of them are recycled. The rest of the tires are dumped in landfills. Most European countries have methods and programs to support the collection and recycling of used tires. However, only a fraction of the total amount of worn tires finds use (export to other countries, incineration for energy, mechanical crushing for road surfacing, etc.) The rest of the used tires are not used in any way because there is no cost-effective way to recycle them. The recycling and reuse of end-of-life tires is extremely important for Ukraine. The purpose of this master’s thesis is to analyze the level of industrial safety in the pyrolysis of used tires. As a result of the work, an analysis of technologies was carried out and the following was proposed: ? feasibility study; ? analysis of production risks; ? information on the prevention of man-made and natural disasters; ? recommendations on labour safety for technical personnel; ? alculated the economic efficiency of the plant. Keywords: occupational safety, waste tires, pyrolysis, tire recycling, industrial safety. Literary sources. 1. Buriak, N.B.
