Characteristics of the educational program: Students of "Fire Safety" master's degree studies gain knowledge related to fire safety for civil and industrial facilities, such as design and application of fire protection, fire prevention, fire tactics, fire engineering, design, technology, operation of buildings and structures on fire load and ensuring fire safety requirements. Educational process is inextricably linked with scientific work in the laboratories of departments using advanced equipment and software.
Програмні результати навчання: - apply specialized conceptual knowledge, including modern scientific achievements to solve scientific and applied problems in the field of fire safety;
- develop and implement projects in the field of fire safety, taking into account goals, limitations, as well as technical, social, economic, legal and ethical aspects;
- investigate fires, predict their occurrence and development, evaluate the effectiveness of the fire safety system of the appropriate level, the risks of fire occurrence and their consequences;
- evaluate construction projects and urban planning documentation projects for compliance with fire safety requirements and propose the necessary engineering and technical measures to ensure fire safety;
- manage the activities of the team aimed at regulating fire safety and decision-making in complex, unpredictable conditions, taking into account available resources and time constraints;
- develop norms and rules of fire safety, instructions on compliance with the fire prevention regime and actions in the event of a fire;
- apply effective methods and means of researching the mechanism of fire occurrence and fire risks, including methods and means of mathematical and computer modelling, statistical data analysis;
- perform tests of: substances, materials of building structures, electrical engineering and cable products to determine fire hazard indicators and characteristics; fire protection systems, fire-fighting technical equipment;
- analyse, evaluate fire-fighting and emergency rescue equipment, fire-fighting equipment and provide recommendations on their optimal selection;
- apply modern information and communication technologies, specialized software in the field of professional activity;
- perform and justify technical and economic calculations of measures to improve fire safety;
- assess the state of ensuring fire safety of objects, buildings and structures, compliance of engineering systems and systems of active and passive fire protection with fire safety requirements, create models of new systems;
- assess the level of danger in the event of a fire and the capabilities of fire-rescue units;
- analyse the requirements for ensuring fire safety established in the technical documentation for substances, materials, products, technological processes, buildings and facilities;
- communicate in a foreign language in scientific, industrial and social spheres of activity. Have the skills of public speeches, discussions, conducting training sessions;
- convey professional knowledge, own justifications and conclusions to specialists of fire and rescue formations and the general public;
- search for the necessary information in scientific and technical literature, databases and other sources, analyse and evaluate the available information;
- apply the acquired knowledge and understanding to identify, formulate and solve fire safety tasks, using known methods;
- think systematically and apply creative abilities to the formation of fundamentally new ideas in the field of services for design, installation and operation of systems that ensure fire safety;
- apply knowledge of technical characteristics, technological features of product formation and implementation in fire safety specialization;
- calculate, design, research market trends, conduct marketing analysis, introduce new products in the field of fire safety to the market;
- work effectively both individually and as part of a team;
- combine theory and practice, as well as make decisions and develop an activity strategy to solve professional tasks, taking into account universal human values, public, state and industrial interests;
- perform appropriate research and apply research skills in the field of design, installation and operation of systems that ensure fire safety of construction sites;
- critically evaluate the obtained results of activities and defend the decisions made with arguments;
- use knowledge in practice, to apply methodological tools of knowledge in the field of services for design, installation and operation of systems that ensure fire safety of construction objects; to analyse the obtained research results in the context of existing theories, to draw appropriate conclusions.
