Characteristics of the educational program: It is based on regulatory provisions, modern achievements of transport science and advanced practical experience in the field of design, manufacture, modernization and operation of locomotives and their constituent parts.

12. To know the main provisions of the regulatory and legislative acts of Ukraine in the field of railway transport, the Rules for the technical operation of the railways of Ukraine, instructions and recommendations for the operation, repair and maintenance of locomotives, their systems, aggregates and assemblies.
13. Identify types and series of locomotives, their systems, elements, characteristics and parameters.
14. Determine the parameters of locomotives, their systems and elements by conducting a measuring experiment and evaluating its results.
15. Know the main technological operations, technological equipment, technological equipment, means of automation and mechanization used in the operation, repair and maintenance of locomotives, their systems, aggregates and nodes.
16. To have the basics of development and introduction into production of documentation regarding the certainty of technological processes of construction, operation, repair and maintenance of locomotives, their systems, aggregates and nodes and other instructions, rules and methods.
17. Know the peculiarities and be able to develop technical tasks and technical conditions for the design of locomotives, their systems, aggregates and nodes; draw up plans for placing equipment, technical equipment and workplace organization, calculate equipment loading and product quality indicators.
18. To calculate the main characteristics and parameters of the technological processes of production and repair of locomotives, their systems, aggregates and nodes in order to compare them and form management decisions regarding the further functioning of the enterprise with an assessment of the quality of its products.
19. Know the structure of operation management, maintenance and repair of locomotives, their systems, units and assemblies.
20. Know the purpose and specifics of the work of structural units of linear enterprises and factories, small groups of performers (teams, divisions, points), regarding the production, operation, repair and maintenance of locomotives, their systems, aggregates and nodes.
21. Know the methods and be able to use technical measurement tools, technical regulations, standards and other regulatory documents during the technical diagnosis of locomotives, their systems, units and assemblies.
22. To develop project design and technological documentation for the creation, operation, repair and maintenance of locomotives, their systems, aggregates and nodes, using specialized modern software tools.
23. Know and calculate the main indicators of reporting and accounting (management, statistical, accounting and financial) of the enterprise during the operation and repair of locomotives, their systems, units and assemblies.
24. To be able to calculate technical and economic and operational indicators of locomotives, their systems, aggregates and nodes.
25. Know the basic requirements of labor protection, safety technology, fire safety and sanitary and hygienic regime when performing professional activities.

Occupational profiles of graduates: The field of activity of the graduates is railway transport. The place of work can be enterprises engaged in operation, maintenance, design, production, testing and modernization of locomotives; designing technological processes and means of technical equipment for maintenance and repair of locomotives; development of project and regulatory and technical documentation. Primary positions: mechanic, transport engineer, engineer for automated production control systems; technical diagnostics engineer; engineer for the organization of operation and repair, engineer for labor protection, repair engineer, engineer for acceptance of locomotives, engineer for the introduction of new equipment and technologies, engineer for standardization and quality.
