Required prior and related subjects: Previous subjects: Physics (school course); Algebra (school course); Geometry (school course); . Related and the following disciplines: Higher Mathematics;
Summary of the subject: The course of general physics is designed to acquaint students with the basic course of physics (mechanics of translational and rotational motion, oscillations and waves, molecular physics and thermodynamics, electrostatics, electromagnetism, electric current, wave optics, thermal radiation, atomic and nuclear physics, elements of solid state physics) at the university level of complexity, to obtain analytical descriptions of complex physical processes. The study of this course also involves solving problems and performing laboratory work followed by studying the processing of measurement results, mastering, if necessary, the methods of their graphic representation, estimation of measurement errors, and analysis of the obtained experimental results. The physics course serves as a basis for understanding the physical side of the processes that occur in real industrial installations, and helps to create mathematical models of the relevant processes for the analysis and synthesis of theoretical and practical provisions and methods of environmental sciences.
Опис: The physics course consists of 30 lectures, 8 practical and 30 laboratory classes in the first semester. The lecture course covers nine chapters, in which the physical foundations of mechanics, molecular physics and thermodynamics, electrostatics, direct current, electromagnetism, wave optics, the quantum nature of radiation, the physics of atoms and elements of solid state physics are outlined. Laboratory work is performed in mechanical-molecular, electrical and optical laboratories. After the 8th and 15th lectures, students write works to check their independent work, and after the 14th lecture, they write a graphic work. At the end of the 2 semester, students take an exam.
Assessment methods and criteria: Methods: 1. Survey for admission to laboratory work (orally and through tests); 2. Survey in defense of laboratory work; 3. Surveys in practical classes; 4. Passing tests; 5. Evaluation of calculation and graphic works; 6. Exam - written form (questions and tasks - written answers); 7. Exam - oral component.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Evaluation criterion: Current control (PC): 40 (Laboratory classes: 16; Control of independent work: 10; RGR: 14). Examination control (EC): 70 (Written component: 60; Oral component: 10). Total for the discipline (PC + EC): 100.
