Learning outcomes: - Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of domestic and foreign scientific achievements and practical experience in the field of design; - Knowledge of the basics and principles of futuristic design of architectural environment and ability to predict its development in the future; - Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the philosophical methodology of scientific knowledge, psychological and pedagogical aspects of professional and scientific activities, own scientific worldview and moral and cultural values; - Ability to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of English, necessary for oral and written presentation of research results, professional scientific dialogue, full understanding of English scientific texts; - Knowledge of the directions of futuristic design of architectural environment of different periods, its genesis, content and philosophy; - Knowledge of representatives, schools, futuristic design trends. - Ability to use acquired knowledge both in the application process of modern design of architectural environment and in futuristic projects; - Ability to prepare a sketch of a futuristic design project that would cover aspects of a particular area, school, current, staff.
Required prior and related subjects: Previous courses: 1. History of Architecture; 2. Futuristic environment design; 3. Fundamentals and Methods of Architectural Design. Related and following courses: 1. Research methodology in the field of architecture, urban planning, art and design; 2. A source base for research in the fields of architecture, urban planning, art and design; 3. Historical paradigms and modern theories in architecture and design.
Summary of the subject: The course "Futuristic Ideas in Architecture, Urban Planning, Art and Design" studies the basics of futuristic design of the architectural environment; its genesis and development; illuminates the ideas and innovations of artists at the turn of the XX - XXI centuries. It reveals ideas of futuristic design in the activity of teachers of Lviv Architectural School during its formation and development. The course consists of postgraduate lectures and practical work. All lecture material is divided into three separate sections, which reveal achievements, tasks and directions of futuristic design in the architectural schools of Ukraine and the World during the historical development, as well as the ideas of futuristic design in the activity of leading teachers of the Lviv Architectural School at the turn of the XX - XXI centuries.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40%): individual research tasks Final control (60%): Examination.
