Required prior and related subjects: Previous:
State land cadastre and real estate assessment;
Land management.
Associated and following academic disciplines:
Fundamentals of technical support for real estate evaluation;
Basics of land inventory and monitoring.
Summary of the subject: The discipline «Soil science and soil grading» provides the professional development of a bachelor and is aimed at forming students' competencies in the ability to use information about soil, soil formation processes, information about the chemical and mineralogical composition of the soil environment, its water, physical and agrochemical properties for further use in grading soils.
Indicators of soil grading are the fundamental basis of scientific research in the study of rent income, assessment of natural properties of land and conditions of market land relations. Soil grading is the basis of economic and monetary assessment, land zoning, rational use, improvement of zonal technologies for the production of crop and livestock products, determination of the value of land as a commodity, optimization of taxation, monitoring of the state of land use, etc. Being a logical conclusion of soil surveys, a generalization of soil studies, the data of bonitation are now used in agriculture, land management and monetary assessment of lands.
Опис: Soil science as a natural science. Soil as a natural body. Soil structure. Qualitative indicators of the soil as a basis for the assessment. Soil grading as a branch of natural sciences. Natural and industrial zoning of Ukraine during soil grading. Methodological approaches in soil grading. Assessment of soils of natural zones of Ukraine. Practical use of rating. Experience of soil grading in foreign countries.
Assessment methods and criteria: The following methods are provided for monitoring the learning outcomes of students in the process of current and semester controls: current control over the performance of tasks in practical classes, implementation and defense of practical works, written thematic controls and an oral component.
Knowledge assessment methods: selective oral survey, defense of practical works, assessment of activity, introduction of proposals, original solutions, clarifications and definitions, etc. Assessment - current control, thematic controls, oral survey.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (100 points):
1. Implementation and defense of practical work for students of the FTE (max 40);
for students of ЕFЕ (max 20).
2. Execution and protection of control work of FTE (max 10).
Execution and protection of test papers for students of the EFE (max 30):
control paper №1 – 15 points;
control work №2 – 15 points.
3. Writing test thematic control №1 – 20 points.
4. Writing test thematic control №2 – 20 points.
5. Oral survey - 10 points.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок:
Current control:
Execution and protection of practical and control works
• 5 points (practical) or 10, 15 points (control) - awarded for completing one's own version of the corresponding practical work without errors, preparing a written performance report and defending it within no later than 3 classes from the date of assignment to the practical work. The defense of practical work for a certain number of points requires the ability to clearly, succinctly and logically consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems.
Note: For practical and control papers, the assignment of 7, 5, 3 and 1 points is carried out by the teacher using the method of approximation of answers during the defense of practical papers.
Thematic controls
Written component:
1) test questions Level I – 5 questions, 1 point each (maximum number of points for correct answers – 5 points).
2) II level test questions – 5 questions for 2 points each (maximum number of points for correct answers – 10 points).
Oral component:
Answers to two short theoretical questions - 5 points maximum for one question. The time for preparing the answer is not provided.
