Мета вивчення дисципліни: Students master the methods of statistical analysis of social and demographic processes of the country's development. Identification with the help of statistical methods of regularities and trends of social and demographic development of society, quantitative characteristics of the studied processes in an inextricable connection with their qualitative determination, establishment of relationships between social, demographic, economic and ecological processes, assessment of priority directions of development of socio-demographic processes in perspective.

Learning outcomes: 1. Ability to demonstrate professional competence obtained in the course of development of various disciplines; 2. To carry out an objective assessment of reality, to recognize international standards and principles of activity; 3. To articulate their thoughts and to express them, and to maintain objectivity, consistency and labor activity in extreme situations; 4. To analyze and explain relevant processes in the social sphere and social security; 5. To search for information from various sources for solving professional tasks; 6. To think systemically and to apply creative ability to generate new ideas; 7. Critically evaluate the obtained results, to handle and defend the decisions taken on the basis of actual / empirical data practices; 8. To combine theory and practice, and to make decisions and to develop a strategy for solving problems of the speciality taking into account of universal values, public and state interests; 9. To apply their knowledge and understanding to carry out professional activities in the field of social security, aimed at socio – economic changes; 10. To carry out analytical and research activities to establish regional and local patterns and peculiarities of the origin, development, resolution and prevention of problems of social welfare; 11. To work effectively, both individually and as part of interdisciplinary teams; 12. The capacity for independent Autonomous professional work and professional tasks in the composition of multidisciplinary teams of specialists; 13. The ability to use a variety of methods, including information technology, for effective communication on professional and social levels; 14. The ability to realize the need for learning throughout life with the aim of deepening the acquired and acquiring new professional knowledge in accordance with latest trends of development of the social sciences; 15. The ability to take responsibility for the work performed and to achieve this goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.

Summary of the subject: Social and demographic statistics is a discipline about the essence and regularities of population reproduction in the socio-economic conditions of this process, in particular, understanding the specifics and interrelationships of the demographic processes of birth, mortality, marriage, divorce, etc., knowledge of the regularities of the formation and dynamics of migration processes, the study of the modern demographic state Ukrainian and global trends in demographic processes, familiarization with the main methods of demographic research and their application in modern management of socio-economic processes; revealing the ways of using the acquired knowledge to solve the problems of social development.
Опис: Theoretical foundations of demographic statistics. Sources of information about population and demographic processes. Number and demographic structure of the population: their dynamics. Quantitative analysis and measurement of demographic processes and structures. Reproduction of the population as a unity of demographic processes. Statistical study of marriage and divorce. Statistical study of fertility and reproductive behavior. Statistical study of population mortality. Statistical analysis of migration processes. Socio-demographic forecasting. Demographic policy in the era of depopulation. Theoretical and methodological foundations of social statistics. Society as an object of social statistics. Statistics of the standard of living of the population: income and expenses. Statistics of housing and communal services, trade, everyday life and transport. Statistics of services of the health care system and medical care of the population. Statistics of education and science. Statistics of culture, art and recreation. Environmental statistics. Statistics on security and respect for human rights. Statistics of the system of social protection of the population. Public opinion statistics. Simulation modeling of population size and composition.
Assessment methods and criteria: • work in practical classes (oral survey, participation in discussions and interactive exercises), individual control work (40%) • final control work (credit): written form (60%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Report - 4 – quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength; - correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus; - speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation); - the level of meaningfulness of knowledge - the ability to formulate independent evaluation judgments and theoretical conclusions. Performing interactive exercises or case analysis - 4 - the sequence of solving the situation proposed in the exercise or case study; - approaches to solving the situation proposed in the exercise or case study; - the quality of solving the situation proposed in the exercise or case study; - disclosure of cause-and-effect relationships between phenomena and processes during the solution of the situation proposed in the exercise or case. Reviewing, opposing - 2 – correctness, logic, reasonableness, integrity of knowledge; - the ability to argue one's own judgments and conclusions during a scientific discussion. Supplement - 1 - a scientifically based statement that reveals the essence of phenomena, processes, patterns.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points - certified with an “excellent” grade - High level: the student demonstrates an in-depth mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline, systematic knowledge, skills and abilities of their practical application. The mastered knowledge, skills and abilities provide the ability to independently formulate goals and organize learning activities, search and find solutions in non-standard, atypical educational and professional situations. The applicant demonstrates the ability to make generalizations based on critical analysis of factual material, ideas, theories and concepts, to formulate conclusions based on them. His/her activity is based on interest and motivation for self-development, continuous professional development, independent research activities, implemented with the support and guidance of the teacher. 87-71 points - certified with a grade of “good” - Sufficient level: involves mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline at an advanced level, conscious use of knowledge, skills and abilities to reveal the essence of the issue. Possession of a partially structured set of knowledge provides the ability to apply it in familiar educational and professional situations. Aware of the specifics of tasks and learning situations, the student demonstrates the ability to search for and choose their solution according to the given sample, to argue for the use of a particular method of solving the problem. Their activities are based on interest and motivation for self-development and continuous professional development. 70-50 points - certified with a grade of “satisfactory” - Satisfactory level: outlines the mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline at the average level, partial awareness of educational and professional tasks, problems and situations, knowledge of ways to solve typical problems and tasks. The applicant demonstrates an average level of skills and abilities to apply knowledge in practice, and solving problems requires assistance, support from a model. The basis of learning activities is situational and heuristic, dominated by motives of duty, unconscious use of opportunities for self-development. 49-00 points - certified with a grade of “unsatisfactory” - Unsatisfactory level: indicates an elementary mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline, a general understanding of the content of the educational material, partial use of knowledge, skills and abilities. The basis of learning activities is situational and pragmatic interest.
