Characteristics of the educational program: The program aims to train local governments, public associations, staff in the field of culture, strategy and development, features of local historical heritage management as a resource, and the development of cultural tourism in the region. Upon completion of their studies, students will produce fundamentally new approaches to cultural development through historical heritage and cultural tourism. The new educational program combines the benefits of a classical humanities education with the business needs of local governments and the tourism industry, expanding the scope of employment of graduates. The basis of professional training of students is a cycle of compulsory disciplines, the study of which lays the foundations for future professional skills. First of all, there are a number of normative disciplines on the management of cultural heritage and cultural tourism in Ukraine and the world. They provide an opportunity to form competencies in the field of cultural heritage potential of regions, features, ways of formation, and prospects of cultural tourism. Another block of disciplines on strategies for development and management of cultural heritage will allow students to understand how to use this resource for the development of local communities, learn to develop and implement grant applications of relevant content, refine their ideas to the level of full project applications.
Gained competence: 1. To know and apply methods and technologies of management and marketing in museum and monument protection affairs. 2. To know and apply modern technologies of interpretation and actualization of historical-cultural and natural heritage. 3. To know the essential practices of digitization and other forms of virtual access to cultural heritage. 4. To know the content of the main discussions on the concept of "cultural heritage" in the modern world, focusing on issues of identity, property, commercialization, minority rights.
1.To understand the issues of preservation, interpretation, and use of historical and cultural heritage to assess and analyze the current state and key trends in the development of museum and monument protection in general. 2.To apply effective methods and technologies of design and modernization of museum and monument protection institutions according to the requirements of consumers and legislation, current standards, and technical conditions. 3. To substantiate, create new, and modernize existing expositions, exhibitions, excursion-tourist routes, etc. 4. To use information technology and specialized software in professional activities. 5. To carry out strategic museum planning in the conditions of market dynamics and competition. 6. To integrate into the social and economic sector (revitalize) the historical and cultural environment as a resource for the development of local communities. 7. To develop innovative products in the domestic and foreign markets of cultural services. 8. To develop projects on museification of objects of historical, cultural, and natural heritage. 9.To analyze and structure the problems of the organization, make effective management decisions related to the management of cultural heritage and cultural tourism, and ensure their implementation 10. To analyze the latest practices of promoting cultural tourism at different levels; 11. To understand the peculiarities of the implementation of sociological research in the field of cultural heritage. 12.To work on projects to involve the community in the field of cultural heritage and development of cultural tourism; 13. To generate and implement projects for digitalization of cultural heritage sites. 14. To develop concepts of museum institutions, brands, and projects to use historical, cultural, and natural heritage.
