Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: The full execution of the curriculum and defense of Master's Thesis in the form of the diploma thesis (DT) or diploma project (DP)
Characteristics of the educational program: The student must complete a training program of 90 ECTS credits, including: – Training courses - 57 ECTS credits; – Course works / projects - 3 ECTS credits; – Practice - 9 ECTS credits; – Execution and defense of qualifying work - 21 ECTS credits.
Gained competence: – basic principles of the management of the chemical-pharmaceutical enterprise, basics of pharmaceutical marketing, the procedure of registration of medicinal products, a complex of Good Pharmaceutical practices, principles of foreign economic activity of enterprises; – basic principles of design of production and auxiliary premises of chemical-pharmaceutical productions in the system of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), principles of technological equipment layout; – the main methods and features of technology for obtaining different classes of veterinary and biomedical preparations; – the methods and techniques of using polymers and nanostructures as components of medicines, the development of medical preparations with prolonged and controlled release and targeted delivery; – the theoretical basics and modern technological processes, and technologies of pharmaceutical products manufacturing in the different medicinal forms; – types, design features, and principles of equipment operation of chemical and pharmaceutical enterprises; – the methods and means of human protection and the environment from harmful factors of man-made and biological origin; – the methods of solving computational and experimental tasks; – the manufacturing technologies and principles of the medical and cosmetic products using, criteria for ingredients selection, use of plant raw materials and phytotherapeutic agents in cosmetology; – basics of the legislation of Ukraine in the field of quality control of medicines, modern methods of quality control, the quality management system of pharmaceutical enterprises, standardization, certification, and pharmacovigilance system; – the environmental aspects of chemical and pharmaceutical industries, methods and technologies for the treatment of gas emissions and wastewater; – the methods and techniques of modern biotechnology, basics of technologies of innovative biotechnological productions of new medicinal substances and medicines.
- to manage pharmaceutical manufacturing in a market economy, to analyze the economic performance of the pharmaceutical enterprise; - to apply knowledge of current legislation to develop and register a pharmaceutical enterprise, draw up a business plan, conduct marketing research, and carry out import and export operations; - to design a chemical-pharmaceutical enterprise taking into account the requirements of safety and GMP standards: to design new technological schemes for the production of pharmaceuticals, to carry out construction design using the standard unified building structural elements and typical standard equipment; - to carry out a step-by-step synthesis and choose the optimal parameters of the processes of production of veterinary medicines, to choose alternative ways of obtaining biotechnological products; - to apply scientific knowledge for the introduction of advanced technologies in pharmaceutical production; - to apply knowledge of chemical and pharmaceutical technologies for introduction into the manufacturing of medicines in various dosage forms; - to select and use equipment of modern pharmaceutical production; - to present scientific material in the form of reports in oral form in front of a professional audience; to argue the results and practical significance of the conducted research; - ensure compliance with the rules of professional and civil safety in chemical and pharmaceutical industries; - to select and implement optimal technological schemes of pharmaceutical manufacturing to clean emissions of harmful substances and disposal of hazardous waste; - to produce medical cosmetics for various purposes, to control their quality to optimize storage conditions; - to apply the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine on quality control of medicines at the stages of medicine production; to apply knowledge of modern quality control systems for medicines, quality management systems in pharmaceutical plants; - to synthesize and analyze polymers for pharmaceutical purposes, polymer-carriers and nanostructures, develop medicines with prolonged and controlled release and targeted delivery; - to choose alternative ways of biological/biotechnological medicines obtaining.
- аbility to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages; - ability to use a variety of methods, including modern information technology, for effective communication at the professional and social levels.
Academic mobility: On the basis of bilateral agreements between the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" and the universities of Ukraine or higher educational institutions of foreign partner countries.
