Learning outcomes: - the student is able to use knowledge of chemistry and chemical technologies to develop methods for obtaining veterinary drugs; - the student can demonstrate knowledge of biotechnological methods for the production of biomedical drugs; - the student can use the knowledge of industrial technologies of pharmaceutical production to create veterinary drugs; - the student can analyze the methods and choose the best methods of production of pharmaceuticals, including veterinary and biomedical drugs; - the student is able to offer a step-by-step organic synthesis or biotechnology of production of any veterinary drug, to organize production.
Required prior and related subjects: prerequisites: Organic chemistry; Methods of organic synthesis; Microbiology; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Chemistry and technology of medicinal substances. co-requisites: Industrial technology of pharmaceutical industries; Quality assessment of medicines; Scientific aspects of the ecology of chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Summary of the subject: Modern requirements for medicinal substances. Creation of new synthetic drugs, communication structure - biological activity. Classification of medicinal substances. Means that correct the immune status, stress and productivity of animals. Substances that affect mainly the metabolism, individual systems and organs. The use of industrial biosynthesis for the production of medicines.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports from workshops, oral interviews, control work (30 points); • final evaluation - 70points (control measure, test): written-oral form
