Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate:
1. Knowledge of the stages of development of systems representations and the main directions of systems research.
2. Ability to distinguish between problems for which it is advisable to apply a systems approach and interpret the basic concepts of systems analysis and principles of systems approach.
3. Ability to build the life cycle of the system, apply methodologies, methods and algorithms of systems analysis to solve problems on complex objects of computerization;
4. Ability to collect information for system analysis in accordance with the principles of the system approach;
5. Ability to use methodological analysis methodologies in the design of information systems.
6. Ability to analyze the subject area and practically apply the knowledge gained in the process of designing the system in AllFusion Process Modeler.

Summary of the subject: Introduction to the discipline of systems analysis methodology
History of development of system representations. The main directions of systems research. Prerequisites and the need for a systems approach. Subject of system analysis.
Basic concepts of systems analysis
Principles of system approach. The concept of system, environment and purpose. Decomposition. The concept of element, function, structure. Representation of structures in matrix form
Systems and models
Classification and properties of systems. Scientific knowledge of modeling. Similarities of models. Functions of system models and their classification.
System-methodological aspects of modeling.
Investigation of systems using an axiomatic approach. The "black box" method. Simulation models.
Analysis and synthesis in systems research
Analytical approach to the study of complex systems. The concept of analysis and synthesis. Decomposition and aggregation. Types of aggregates used in systems analysis. Basic decomposition strategies. System features of information systems models
Methodology of system analysis
Sequence methodology – method – notation – tool. Stages of systemic problem solving. Sequence of stages of system analysis. System research methodology focused on the study of existing systems and problem identification
The concept of structural approach and CASE technology
Formalized procedures and algorithms of system analysis. Description of the system at the verbal level. Historical, substantive and functional forms of system description. Classification of systems analysis methodologies. IDEF0 functional modeling methodology. Data flow diagram. IDEF3 methodology
System planning, strategy, tactics and analysis of actions
Formal, incremental and system planning. Strategic planning. Direct and inverse system planning processes. Methods of finding the desired scenarios
Methods of system analysis
Goal tree method (disaggregation method and method of providing necessary conditions). Scenario method. Method of analysis of hierarchies. Delphi method. Methods of development and analysis of tools and processes (FVA and related methods)
Difficulties in obtaining information from experts
Features of obtaining primary information for systems analysis. Layers of psychological problems of the structural model of communication. features of the linguistic and epistemological aspect of communication with the expert. Methodological structure of cognition
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control (40%): written reports on laboratory work, essay, oral examination;
• Final control (60% of exam): in written, verbally.
