Summary of the subject: An individual task for the MKR is drawn up and entered by the head of the master's qualification work in the "MKR Assignment" form, signed by the teacher who issued it and the student who accepted the task. Individual tasks must specify the list of works that the student must perform during the implementation of the MKR. A mandatory point of the assignment is the student's study of regulatory documentation on information and cyber security, which has the access mark "for official use" - regulatory documents on technical information protection, abstracts of dissertations, scientific articles, etc. The head of the MKR from the department draws up and periodically monitors the calendar plan for the execution of tasks. The calendar plan is drawn up in the form of a table, which will later be placed in the explanatory note of the MKR.
Assessment methods and criteria: The MKR developed, signed by the student and the consultants, is submitted by the student to the supervisor. After checking the MKR, the manager signs the note and the attachments with the presentations and submits them to the head of the department together with his written feedback. The head of the department, after reviewing the MCR and feedback, decides on the admission of the graduate student to the defense, signs the title page and sends the MCR for review. If the head of the department does not consider it possible to admit the student to the defense of the MKR, he brings this issue to the meeting of the department, to which the head of the MKR is invited. The decision of the department on this issue is formalized in a protocol, which is submitted to the director of the institute. The student gets acquainted with the review of the MKR before the start of the EC meeting, at which the project is defended. The director of the institute and the head of the department take measures so that the public defense of the MKR takes place in the premises prepared for this and, if possible, in a solemn atmosphere. The defense can take place both at a higher educational institution and at enterprises, institutions and organizations for which the subject of the defended works (projects) is of scientific, theoretical or practical interest. The work schedule of the EC, agreed with the head of the commission, is approved by the vice-rector for academic work and announced to graduates no later than one month before the defense of the MKR. A protocol is drawn up at the meeting of the EC. The duration of the session should not exceed six academic hours per day. The duration of protection of one work (project), as a rule, should not exceed 15 minutes. The student is given no more than 5-7 minutes to reveal the content of the thesis (project). After the report, members of the EC or examiners invited to the defense may ask the graduate student questions on the subject of the MKR or other subjects related to the MKR topic. After the diploma student answers the questions, the supervisor's and the reviewer's feedback is read. The decision of the EC on the assessment of the knowledge revealed during the defense of the MKR, as well as on the assignment of the appropriate educational level (qualifications) to graduating students and the issuance of diplomas (general or with honors) is taken at a closed meeting of the commission by open voting by a simple majority of the votes of the members of the commission who took participation in its meeting. In case of an equal number of votes, the vote of the chairman of the commission is decisive. During this meeting, EC members sign the minutes of the meetings. Students who have successfully passed the state exams and also defended the MKR are assigned a qualification in accordance with the obtained specialty by the decision of the EC and are issued a diploma of the established model. A student who has "excellent" grades in at least 75% of all disciplines of the curriculum, and "good" grades in the remaining disciplines and individual tasks, passed the state exam and defended a diploma project with an excellent grade, and also proved himself in the scientific ( creative) work, which is confirmed by the recommendation of the department, is awarded a diploma with distinction, which is recorded in the minutes of the commission meeting. In cases where the defense of the MCR does not meet the qualification characteristics, the EC makes a decision that the student did not defend the MCR, i.e. received an unsatisfactory grade, which is noted in the minutes of the commission meeting. A student who received an unsatisfactory grade at the MKR defense is expelled from the higher education institution. He is issued an academic certificate of the established model. If the student did not appear at the meeting of the commission for the protection of the MKR, then the protocol of the commission states that he is not certified due to non-appearance at the commission meeting. Students who have not been certified in the approved term have the right to re-certification in the next term of EC work within three years after graduation from a higher educational institution. In cases where the MKR defense is deemed unsatisfactory, the EC determines whether the student can resubmit the same work (project) with revisions, or whether he must work on a new topic determined by the relevant department. Students who received an unsatisfactory grade during the repeated defense of the MKR are issued an academic certificate of the established model. After the defense of the MKR, the decision of the EC to provide the students who have defended the MKR with the appropriate qualification is announced by an order, after which the rector or the head of the department ceremoniously presents them with diplomas and badges of graduation from the higher educational institution. The generalized results of the defense of diploma projects are discussed at the meeting of the Academic Council of the institute and at the meeting of the issuing department.
