Learning outcomes: 1. To know the organization of welding and installation works in pipeline construction and the essence of welding and repair technologies used at the stage of construction and operation of main pipelines. 2. Be able to experimentally investigate and calculate the stress state of the main pipeline to determine its strength. Be able to set up diagnostic equipment used in pipeline transport and carry out the measurement process on this equipment. 3. Be able to develop the technological process of repair welding, select welding materials, set up welding equipment and carry out the welding process.

Summary of the subject: During the study of this discipline the student acquires theoretical and practical knowledge of technologies for construction and repair of main pipelines, which are used in production at this time and will be developed in the near future. The organization and essence of welding and installation works in pipeline construction, as well as methods of calculating the strength and experimental diagnosis of main pipelines are studied. Ability to set up welding and diagnostic equipment used in pipeline transport and carry out the technological process on this equipment.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control (30%, defense of laboratory work). • Final control (60% written component, an oral component 10%).

Learning outcomes: 1. To know and be able to perform the organization of welding and installation works in the construction of pipeline transport facilities. 2. Be able to select the necessary welding materials and calculate the parameters of the mode to perform the welding process. 3. Be able to perform the required strength calculation of the pipeline in accordance with the operating parameters. 4. Use existing software computerized tools for the design of main pipelines.

Summary of the subject: During the study of this discipline the student acquires practical knowledge and skills to perform the required strength calculation of the main pipeline in accordance with the conditions of operation and implementation of welding and installation work in the construction or repair of pipeline transport facilities. When performing course work, preference is given to the design of welding or repair of real pipeline systems or storage facilities at the request of the base company, potential customer, employer, etc. For this purpose, the volume and content of the work are adjusted in agreement with the student and the supervisor.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control, defense of course work before the commission (100%).
