Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying this discipline is to provide students with the necessary knowledge for the sketch design of cable and satellite television networks, as well as to provide information about the main nodes and devices of cable and satellite television systems.
Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: general: 1. Basic ideas about the structure, principle of operation and main characteristics of microelectronics and functional electronics devices; 2. Basic ideas about methods of analysis and synthesis of components and devices of electronic equipment; 3. Basic ideas about modern technologies of obtaining materials, production of components and devices of micro- and nanoelectronics; 4. Basic ideas about modern computer technologies and tools of engineering and scientific calculations, data processing, graphics, modeling and optimization, modern means of information technologies. professional: 1. Ability to use and operate devices, means and systems of micro- and nanoelectronics; 2. The ability to choose components and means of electronic equipment to perform specified functions; 3. Ability to analyze scientific and technical literature on the state, trends and development of electronic equipment, technical, technological and design documentation, including in a foreign language; 4. Ability to calculate and design the structure and devices of electronic equipment.
Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student should be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: 1. Acquired knowledge and practical skills are necessary for the sketch design of cable television networks; 2. The acquired knowledge and practical skills are necessary for the sketch design of satellite television networks; 3. Acquired knowledge about schematic and structural features of cable television nodes and devices, their parameters and characteristics; 4. Acquired knowledge about schematic and structural features of nodes and devices of satellite television, their parameters and characteristics; 5. Acquired modern methods of measuring the parameters of cable television nodes and devices, skills of their experimental research; 6. Acquired modern methods of measuring the parameters of nodes and devices of satellite television, skills of their experimental research. The learning outcomes of this discipline detail the following program learning outcomes: 1. Know the basic methods of analysis and synthesis of devices and networks of CTV and STV; 2. Be able to use CAD tools to design CTV and STV networks; 3. Know the properties and main parameters of nodes and devices of CTV and STV networks; 4. Know the working principles and methods of implementation of CTV and STV network nodes and devices; 5. Be able to calculate nodes and devices of CTV and STV networks; 6. Know modern methods of measuring the parameters of nodes and devices of CTV and STV networks; 7. Know the latest directions of implementation and prospects for the use of CTV and STV networks in various fields of science and technology.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisite modules: theory of signals, methods of signal generation and formation, methods of radio and television signals reception and processing, fundamentals of radio and television systems theory, fundamentals of radio and television, fundamentals of digital television. Co-requisite modules: system integrators designing of TC systems and networks, digital systems and means of information networks establishment, satellite infocommunication technologies, digital television and television centers, television systems and information display devices, design of telecommunication systems and networks.
Summary of the subject: Development of CTV and components, types of CTV, types of STB, the laws of Ukraine on TV broadcasting and CTV, national standards of Ukraine in the field of TV and CTV, the feasibility study for designing and building of CTV network, preliminary calculation of the network project cost, network calculation, selection and calculation equipment for building CTV and STB networks, the issue of safety engineering in the design and operation of the network.
Опис: The task of studying the discipline. Development of CTV systems and their components. Types of cable television systems. Legislative base of CTV. Technical and economic substantiation of the design and construction of the CTV network. Calculation of the CTV network. Receiving antennas. Main stations. Trunk and house network amplifiers. Power amplifiers. Passive network elements. Calculation of the total cost of the project. Safety issues.
Assessment methods and criteria: Methods of monitoring the results of student learning, which are used: a) in the process of current control - checking (using control questions) readiness to perform laboratory work; b) in the process of semester control – checking the answers to the questions of the test task of the written component of the exam and conducting an additional oral survey (oral component).

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to clearly analyze the phenomena being studied, in their relationship and development , succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
