Learning outcomes: To know: - basic concepts of the theory of reliability of information systems, the essence of modern system engineering and reliability aspects of information systems design. - basic types of design operations and procedures of functional and logical design of information systems. - functionality of modern software and methodological complexes of automated design of information systems. - approaches, models and methods of structural design of information systems, models and methods of analysis of the behavior of information systems in functional and reliable aspects. - types of maintenance, means and methods of increasing the reliability of information systems. - methods of evaluation and ways to improve the reliability and functional safety of unredundant, redundant, recoverable and non-recoverable information systems. Be able to: - to analyze the requirements for the components of information systems and on its basis correctly formulate the technical task for the design of the information system as a whole. - use the functionality of modern software and methodological complexes of computer-aided design for multivariate analysis of information systems. - to assess the impact of control on the reliability of controlled objects. - to form a mathematical model of the behavior of the object of design (research) in the form of a system of discrete-continuous stochastic systems. - to use the method of optimizing the composition of the structure by the criterion of minimum cost under given reliability constraints, in particular to use problem-oriented software packages. - Ability to assess the functional security of information systems by methods of analysis of types and consequences of failures (FMEA) and analysis of criticality of types and consequences of failures (FMECA). - Ability to work with ASNA, TopEventFTA, RAM Commander software to assess the reliability and functional safety of information systems.
Required prior and related subjects: Higher mathematics: sections "Probability theory" and "Fundamentals of stochastic processes theory". Technology of modeling algorithms of behavior of software and hardware systems. The reliability of RES.
Summary of the subject: The educational discipline "Modern methods of ensuring the reliability of information systems" is an important part of the training of specialists and provides training in the field of analysis, synthesis and optimization of information systems. This discipline should form the future specialist's understanding of the essence of reliability design and the role of reliability and functional safety as defining characteristics of the functioning of information systems.
Assessment methods and criteria: During training, students perform individual project tasks in laboratory classes, the solution of which requires thorough theoretical training in accordance with this program. Protecting project tasks motivates students to better study and develop communication skills. Evaluating the results of individual tasks is a form of ongoing control. Final tests are planned for each topic using the Virtual Learning Environment of Lviv Polytechnic. Semester examination control is conducted in writing on the basis of a set of examination tickets, which is approved at a department meeting.
