Мета вивчення дисципліни: Acquisition by the student of competencies sufficient for the successful performance of professional duties in the specialty 161 Chemical technologies and engineering, familiarization of students with the methodology of scientific research, formation of the ability to apply it in practical activities, organize research activities. The subject of the course is the process of scientific research. The main attention in the course is given to the students' performance of the control task of the research direction, obtaining new experimental data. The course gives a complete idea of all stages of scientific research - from choosing a topic and planning an experiment to designing the results of scientific research.
Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: general competences: 1. Ability to generate new ideas (creativity). 2. Ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. 3. Ability to work independently and in a team. 4. The ability to self-educate and improve the level of professional qualifications. professional competences: 1. The ability to research, classify and analyze indicators of the quality of chemical products, technological processes and equipment of chemical production. 2. The ability to use modern special scientific equipment and software when conducting experimental research and conducting research and development in the field of chemical technologies and engineering.
Learning outcomes: • know the theoretical bases of technology of production of chemicals and own methodology of scientific research; • know methods of chemical and physico-chemical analysis of raw materials, chemicals and products based on them; • Know the design and principles of modern equipment and facilities of chemical productions; • be able to assess the impact of technological factors on the composition of the final product; • be able to communicate the data obtained from the results of mathematical modeling of chemical and technological processes; • have an understanding and ability to assess risks associated with the use of chemicals and laboratory research and quality control of starting materials and end (commodity) products of chemical technology.

Search, accumulation and processing of scientific information. Fundamentals of technical creativity. Law of development and consumption of technical systems. Basic laws of the creative process. Organizational aspects of scientific activity. Nature statistical decisions and testing hypotheses in the research. Basic methods of statistical data processing during research in chemistry and chemical technology.

The concept of observation and experiment as the main methods of scientific knowledge 9. The role of the model in modern scientific knowledge 10. Modeling as a method of research and optimization of chemical and technological processes. 11. Application of the theory of similarity for modeling chemical-technological processes 12. Movement of liquids and gases through a porous structure. Methodology for researching the hydraulic resistance of nozzle-type devices 13. Features of theoretical and experimental studies of filtering and mixing processes. 14. Thermal processes, methods of heat transfer. The use of similarity theory methods for the study of thermal processes. 15. Heat and mass exchange processes. Criterion equations of convective heat and mass transfer.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Written control (Tests) - (30%) • final control (70% control measure, test): written-oral form (70%)

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49–26 points – (“not certified” with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is given for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.

Опис: The study discipline "Methodology of Scientific Research" introduces students to the theoretical foundations of the methodology of scientific research activity. Concept of methodology and method of scientific research. Theoretical and methodological principles of science. A systematic approach in scientific research. Selection of the direction of scientific research and stages of scientific research work. Definition of the subject and object of research. Search, accumulation and processing of scientific information.
Assessment methods and criteria: The main methods of knowledge diagnosis are: current (PC) and semester control (SC), which is carried out from educational material, the scope of which is determined by the work program of the discipline for the semester. Current control is carried out during lectures and laboratory classes in order to check the level of assimilation of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of the student. PC is conducted in the form of: written and oral control and defense of laboratory work. Semester control is carried out in the form of credit (ZK). The grade is a form of SC of the student's study results in the academic discipline for the semester.
