Мета вивчення дисципліни: Acquisition by the student of competencies sufficient for the successful performance of professional duties in the specialty 161 Chemical technologies and engineering, familiarization of students with the methodology of scientific research, formation of the ability to apply it in practical activities, organize research activities. The subject of the course is the process of scientific research. The main attention in the course is given to the students' performance of the control task of the research direction, obtaining new experimental data. The course gives a complete idea of all stages of scientific research - from choosing a topic and planning an experiment to designing the results of scientific research.
Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: general competences: 1. Ability to generate new ideas (creativity). 2. Ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. 3. Ability to work independently and in a team. 4. The ability to self-educate and improve the level of professional qualifications. professional competences: 1. The ability to research, classify and analyze indicators of the quality of chemical products, technological processes and equipment of chemical production. 2. The ability to use modern special scientific equipment and software when conducting experimental research and conducting research and development in the field of chemical technologies and engineering.
Learning outcomes: • know the theoretical bases of technology of production of chemicals and own methodology of scientific research; • know methods of chemical and physico-chemical analysis of raw materials, chemicals and products based on them; • Know the design and principles of modern equipment and facilities of chemical productions; • be able to assess the impact of technological factors on the composition of the final product; • be able to communicate the data obtained from the results of mathematical modeling of chemical and technological processes; • have an understanding and ability to assess risks associated with the use of chemicals and laboratory research and quality control of starting materials and end (commodity) products of chemical technology.

The applicant demonstrates an average level of skills and abilities to apply knowledge in practice, and solving problems requires assistance, support from a model. Assessment methods and criteria: The main methods of knowledge diagnosis are: current (PC) and semester control (SC), which is carried out from educational material, the scope of which is determined by the work program of the discipline for the semester. Current control is carried out during lectures and laboratory classes in order to check the level of assimilation of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of the student. PC is conducted in the form of: written and oral control and defense of laboratory work. Semester control is carried out in the form of credit (ZK). The grade is a form of SC of the student's study results in the academic discipline for the semester.

Inclusive educational services are provided by the Service of accessibility to learning opportunities "Without restrictions", the purpose of which is to provide permanent individual support for the educational process of students with disabilities and chronic diseases. An important tool for the implementation of the inclusive educational policy at the University is the Program for improving the qualifications of scientific and pedagogical workers and teaching and support staff in the field of social inclusion and inclusive education.
Академічна доброчесність: The policy regarding the academic integrity of the participants in the educational process is formed on the basis of compliance with the principles of academic integrity, taking into account the norms "Regulations on academic integrity at the Lviv Polytechnic National University" (approved by the academic council of the university on June 20, 2017, protocol No. 35).
