Завдання: familiarization with the regulation of international and political activities in Ukraine; study of the theoretical foundations of diplomacy and political science, determination of priority areas of international and political issues and methods of their coverage through mass media; acquiring practical skills in creating a quality information product aimed at protecting national interests. The course has a practical orientation and reveals both theoretical aspects of international and political journalism, as well as modern approaches to solving problems with the help of mass media and improving the effectiveness of journalistic materials. Students gain knowledge about the main international and domestic legal documents that regulate international and political activities in Ukraine, master theoretical material on the principles of creating a successful and high-quality information campaign with the help of mass media, get acquainted with a complex of technologies that are widely used for effective influence on the institute authorities and to create a positive image of Ukraine abroad.
Learning outcomes: Know the meaning of the basic concepts of ideological and political domination based on information policy;
Understand the core concepts and practical applications of international life;
Study the methodology of special information operations at the global, regional (European) and national levels;
Possess effective practice research tools journalistic campaign;
Know the contents of internal and external policy of Ukraine in terms of international life;
To master the legal basis for foreign policy of Ukraine;
Understand the background and the source of problems in the international and political sphere;

Summary of the subject: Essence and features of the concept of "urgent problems". Informational influence and its features. The psychological impact. International journalism in the context of world issues. Ukraine's membership in international organizations. The use of media in modern information operations. Advantages and disadvantages of certain media to use them during international conflicts. International global problems and methods of solving them. Features writing journalistic materials on international issues.
Опис: Introduction. Subject and tasks of the course. The purpose of studying the discipline "International and political problems in mass media" and its necessity for future journalists.
Conceptual foundations of international politics. Approaches to determining the essence of international information. International journalism in the context of world problems
Membership of Ukraine in international organizations. The use of mass media in modern information operations. Advantages and disadvantages of certain mass media in their use during international conflicts.
International global problems and methods of their solution. International rhetoric during the COVID-19 pandemic. Peculiarities of writing journalistic materials on international topics.
Concept of political journalism. Peculiarities of political conflicts. The place of mass media in the political life of the country. Types of electoral systems. Features of the mixed electoral system.
Ways of submitting materials on political topics in mass media. Types of political advertising in modern mass media. The image of a politician and methods of its creation. Political culture and political consciousness of citizens.
Assessment methods and criteria: Practice session, oral examination (40%), final control (60% test, examination): oral-written form (60%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: • individual research task (maximum number of points – 10)
• work in practical classes (maximum number of points – 30)
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: Depending on the difficulty and level of performance of the task, the student may receive 1, 2 or 3 points during the practical session.
1 point is awarded for an oral answer that corresponds to the theoretical material presented in the lecture session.
The student receives 2 points for an oral answer, which includes information obtained by the student in addition to lectures as a result of studying additional literature.
3 points involve the performance of a creative task, in particular, the writing of informative journalistic material on political or international topics.
An individual research task involves writing an analytical or journalistic long-read on an international or political topic, it is estimated at a maximum of 10 points.
During distance learning, the answer requirements and distribution of points are the same as during offline learning. In addition, during distance learning, students can prepare presentations according to the previous topic of the lecture, and receive a maximum of 2 points for this task.
