Characteristics of the educational program: The educational and professional program is based on modern engineering and technical developments and the results of scientific research in the field of hydraulic engineering and water resources and focuses on current specializations, within which a further professional and scientific career is possible: water management and environmental construction; hydrotechnical construction. The main focus is on systems of the water management complex, including industrial facilities. The program provides practical training of specialists to solve complex tasks and problems in the field of hydraulic construction, water engineering and water technologies in the course of professional activity or in the learning process, which involves conducting research and/or implementing innovations, and is characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions and requirements.
Gained competence: - set and solve innovative/scientific tasks and problems of hydraulic engineering that require updating and integration of knowledge, including in conditions of incomplete/insufficient information and conflicting requirements; - plan and carry out research, analyze their results and justify conclusions; - build and research physical, mathematical and computer models of objects and processes of hydraulic construction, water engineering and water technologies using appropriate methods and specialized software; - to develop schemes of integrated water use and protection, river basin management plans, to organize rational use of water resources; - determine the causes and consequences of the harmful effects of water, apply appropriate flood protection methods for settlements, agricultural lands and other territories, develop and implement programs for managing the risks of inundation by floods and floods of ecosystems, natural and anthropogenic landscapes; - apply hydraulic and geo-information technologies, modern methods of modeling, calculation and design of objects of professional activity to solve complex problems of hydraulic construction, water engineering and water technologies; - to organize collective work in the planning and implementation of construction projects of objects of professional activity, their repair, reconstruction and liquidation, taking into account available resources and time constraints, as well as technical, economic, legal and environmental aspects; - determine technologies and develop comprehensive measures for rational use, protection and reproduction of water resources, improvement of the hydrological and ecological state of water bodies; - specialized conceptual knowledge, which includes modern scientific achievements in the field of professional activity or field of knowledge and is the basis for original thinking and conducting research; - critical understanding of problems in the field and on the border of the fields of knowledge.
- make effective decisions in conditions of incomplete/insufficient information and conflicting requirements, analyze alternatives, make forecasts, assess risks; - communicate freely in national and foreign languages on scientific, engineering and production issues in the field of hydraulic construction, water engineering and water technologies, presentation of research and project results, arguments of one's own position, conducting discussions on professional issues; - to organize the determination of the technical condition of objects of professional activity and draw appropriate conclusions based on its analysis; - to clearly and unambiguously convey one's own conclusions on hydraulic engineering problems, as well as the knowledge and explanations that substantiate them, to specialists and non-specialists, in particular to persons who are studying; - ability to analytical and critical scientific-oriented systemic thinking; - ability to plan, analyze, control and evaluate one's own work and the work of others; - ability for effective interaction and multi-disciplinary teamwork in industrial, organizational, educational and research professional activities, including in the international context; - ability to develop and manage projects in the field of water management and environmental engineering; - specialized skills/problem-solving skills necessary for conducting research and/or implementing innovative activities for the purpose of developing new knowledge and procedures; - ability to integrate knowledge and solve complex problems in broad or multidisciplinary contexts; - ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments in the presence of incomplete or limited information, taking into account aspects of social and ethical responsibility.
