Know the laws and methods of modeling processes and phenomena in the field of water management and environmental engineering. AP 5. Know specialized information and communication technologies and modern computer software in the professional field. AP 6. Know the principles and methods of labor protection and civil safety in the professional field. AP 7. Know the methodology of organization and technology of projects in the field of water management, environmental and hydro-technical construction. AP 8. Know the methodology of project management in the field of water management, environmental protection and hydraulic engineering. AP 9. Know the methods and tools for studying the current state of water management, hydraulic and environmental systems, modeling and forecasting its changes over time. AP 10. Know the principles and methods of development and implementation of projects for reconstruction and modernization of water management, hydraulic and environmental systems. AP 11. Know the economic principles of professional activity and mechanisms for making management decisions.

Co-requisites: • Water management of industrial enterprises; • Water treatment facilities; • Waste disposal facilities.
Summary of the subject: The composition and properties of wastewater. Water bodies and their protection from contamination by sewage. The methods and technological schemes for sewage treatment. Grates. Sands. The primary clarifiers. Biofilters. Aerotanks. The secondary clarifiers. Deep wastewater treatment. Disinfection of wastewater and release them into the water. Wastewater treatment of small settlements and individual buildings. Sewage treatment plants.
Assessment methods and criteria: • work of students during practical classes (10%), performance and defense of laboratory work (20%) • final control (exam): written-oral form (70%)

Summary of the subject: Determining the cost and concentrations of substances in wastewater. Determining the necessary degree of wastewater treatment. The method of sewage treatment and the types of treatment facilities. Calculation of the buildings mechanical, biological and deep cleaning of wastewater. The method of disinfection of treated wastewater. Issue of return water into the pond. The layout of the treatment facilities.
Assessment methods and criteria: • final control (test): defense of the project (100%)
