Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: hydraulic structures; water resources, their use and protection; operation of water management facilities. Co-requisites: drainage treatment facilities; water management of industrial enterprises; performance of master's qualification work.
Summary of the subject: The discipline considers constructions and measures of engineering protection of territories and objects from landslides and requirements to them. Anti-mud buildings. General information on avalanche measures and anti-karst and anti-suffusion measures. Coastal protection structures. Buildings and measures to protect against flooding and inundation of territories and objects, as well as anti-erosion structures.
Assessment methods and criteria: Practical (PR) - 20 points; Independent study - 10 points; Exam - 70 points; Total for the discipline - 100 points. Course project, credit - 100 points.

Summary of the subject: The curriculum and program of the discipline "Environmental structures" provides for the implementation of the course project "Protective embankment of soil materials" in order to consolidate theoretical knowledge in the design of protective dams of soil materials and spillways, gaining practical skills in choosing types and structures of these structures , performance of hydraulic, filtration and static calculations which allow to substantiate the accepted constructive decisions.
Assessment methods and criteria: Course project, credit - 100 points.
