Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: If a prior qualification level is gained in another country, it requires recognition (nostrification), which is conducted by Lviv Polytechnic National University. There are not mechanisms for the recognition of the learning outcomes gained through non-formal and informal learning developed.
Gained competence: - Basic knowledge to implement measures in the field of environmental protection technology. - Knowledge of the latest equipment to reduce pollution. - Basic knowledge of operational and technological characteristics and features of installation of equipment for environmental protection. - Knowledge of Earth Sciences to study the geophysical and geochemical phenomena and processes in the environment. - Knowledge of the regulatory and legal framework, scientific and methodical bases in technology of preservation, protection and restoration of the environment. - Knowledge of the parameters of control and measuring equipment to determine the effectiveness environmental protection technologies and clearing environment from pollution. - Knowledge about technology of monitoring of air, water, land and biological resources. - Basic knowledge of manufacturing and technology needed for learning professionally-oriented disciplines. - Basic knowledge of technical specifications, design features, purpose and rules of operation of air purifying, water purification and remediation facilities and equipment. - Knowledge of labor protection, industrial hygiene and fire safety while working with the equipment and facilities. - Knowledge of current technological processes of air purifying, water purification and remediation equipment and systems of radiation safety.
- The ability to use the knowledge and skills to calculate, research, choosing, implementation and design of air purifying, water purification and remediation technologies, systems and equipment. - Be able to identify, classify and describe the working of air purifying, water purification and remediation systems and components using analytical methods and modeling techniques. - Be able to explore environmental issues and identify constraints, including due to man-made, technological and industrial impacts on ecological safety and life safety. - Be able to design air purifying, water purification and remediation systems and their components with all the features of the establishment, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. - The ability to use and implement new technologies to participate in the reconstruction and modernization of equipment, tools, systems and facilities in order to protect the environment and restore natural and man-made ecosystems. - Have skills of computer technology to meet the challenges of protecting and restoration ecosystems.
- The ability to apply and integrate the knowledge and understanding of other disciplines of science and engineering fields. - The ability to understand and take into account the social, environmental, ethical and economic aspects that influence the development of effective environmental solutions and alternative energy sources. - The ability to use professionally profiled knowledge and practical skills to implement technologies of environmental protection and restoration of natural resources and ecosystems. - The ability to to argue the choice of environmental protection, nature protection specialized methods for solving environmental problems, critically evaluate the results and defend decisions. - The ability to self-learning and continuing professional development. - Communication skills, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and one of the European languages. - Skills of of interaction with other people, ability to work in groups. - The ability to organize their own activities and manage their time effectively.
