The theoretical content of the subject area is the concept, legal norms, requirements and rules, as well as a complex of organizational, technical and special measures and tools aimed at creating development strategies in the field of production and man-made security
Gained competence: 1. To know and understand the fundamental and applied aspects of science associated with production, man-made and natural safety 2. Know the basic concepts of civil protection, occupational safety, sustainable development and methodology of scientific knowledge 3. Integrate knowledge from various industries to solve theoretical and / or practical tasks and problems 4. Know the legal and ethical norms for assessing professional activities, developing and implementing socio-significant projects aimed at regulating man-made and natural safety, human health and performance in the labor process. 5. Know modern methods and tools of research and forecasts of industrial dangers, risks and possible sources of emergencies, including methods and means of mathematical and geoinformation simulation 6. Demonstrate awareness of the latest principles and methods of protection of employees, population, territory, environmental and property from emergencies
1. Be able to use the fundamental patterns of general scientific character in professional activity 2. To provide and determine the zones of increased man-made risk and pollution 3. To determine the probability of occurrence, trends and dynamics of emergencies development, accidents, other dangerous events 4. Conduct an analysis of legal, organizational, technical and other measures on issues of civil protection, occupational safety and man-made security 5. Perform expertise in the field of civil protection, construction projects and projects of urban documentation 6. To assess the level of danger in the course of professional duties, emergencies (accidents) and the possibilities of units created to carry out tasks in the field of civil protection of the relevant functional orientation 7. Conduct an examination of a technical condition, a state of providing civil protection, technogenic and industrial safety of objects, buildings, structures, engineering networks and their certification 8. Use modern information resources in the field of professional activity 9. Apply new approaches to develop decision-making strategies in complex unpredictable conditions 10. Fulfill and protect the technical and economic calculations of safety improvement measures 11. Analyze the state and possible causes of emergency, accident in production, accident and evaluate their consequences 12. Create models of new security systems, develop and offer recommendations for practical application of experimental results 13. Own theoretical-methodological principles of scientific research 14. Own the basics of design, expert-analytical assessment and research 15. Develop a civil protection system, occupational safety, man-made security of enterprises, institutions, organizations.

Demonstrate the ability to organize collective activity and implementation of integrated projects aimed at regulating man-made and natural safety, preservation of human health and working capacity in the labour process, taking into account existing resources and time limitations 2. Ability to communicate effectively at professional and social levels, including oral and written communication in a foreign language. 3. Donate professional knowledge, own rationale and conclusions to specialists in emergency rescue services and formations and general public
