Learning outcomes: - knowledge of modern concepts, methods of research in the field of automation and computer-integrated technologies; - the ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the selected field of scientific research; - to apply knowledge and understanding for solving the synthesis and analysis of automation systems, computer-integrated technologies and their elements; - to investigate and model phenomena and processes in complex dynamic systems for automatic management of organizational and technological processes; - to combine theory and practice, as well as decide and produce a strategy for solving scientific and applied tasks, taking into account universal values, public, state and industrial interests; - Independently perform experimental research and apply research skills to work out the results of experiments.

Summary of the subject: Types and structure information. The amount of information and uncertainty. Entropy as a measure of uncertainty. Sampling and quantization of signals. Digital encoding. Efficient coding. Noiseimmunity coding. Information model of communication channel. Bandwidth. Shannon theorems for bandwidth discrete channel without interference, discrete channel with continuous channel interference and noise immunity transmission channels of information. Methods to improve noise immunity. Filtering signals. Detection and identification signals to background noise. Transferring information in measuring systems and automated process control systems. Methods of protection of information in automated systems.
Assessment methods and criteria: - Current control (30%): individual research assignment, oral examination; - Final control (70%, control measure exam); written-oral form (70%). Ukrainian.
