Learning outcomes: As the studies results, student has: - know: the organization of transport, the conditions for performing the commercial terms of the contract of carriage, documentation, etc., the fundamentals of operational planning of freight transportation and organization of movement of vehicles, equipment calculations of load vehicles and operational indicators of work of transport. - to be able to: o determine the parameters of cargo, plan for transportation, to build a transport system in the area of transportation, develop a route of movement of vehicles to choose brand of the vehicle.
Required prior and related subjects: - Prerequisites: Logistics, Transport Logistics, Warehouse Logistics. - Co-requisites: Commodity Logistics, Logistics Services.
Summary of the subject: Preparation of cargo for transportation, the choice of type of delivery and technological schemes of transportation. The establishment of control and coordination of operations, ensuring the transport process. The choice of system of delivery "from hands to hands", "just in time". Prospects for the use and development of Express delivery. Characterization of primary packaging definition of packaging efficiency during cargo handling, the use of containerization and packaging materials. The formation of a unit load. Marking of the loading unit, the international marking standards. Building a transport scheme and calculation of shortest distances. The definition of traffic volumes. The choice of vehicle. Appointment pendulous and combined routes. The purpose of the delivery routes. The calculation of the efficiency of transport, quality of delivery, assessment of logistic client service.

Learning outcomes: • know: General indicators-measure the efficiency of individual modes of transport under a single transport system; perspectives of development and methods of coordinating the work of separate types of transport; classification of vehicles and their transport properties; methodology techno-economic assessment of vehicles; technology of transportation of various cargoes; common indicators to measure the efficiency of individual modes of transport under a single transport system; perspectives of development and methods of coordinating the work of separate types of transport; the classification of vehicles and their transport properties; methodology techno-economic assessment of vehicles; technology of transportation of various cargo types; peculiarities of organization of cargo transport and mechanization of loading and eventaually works. • to be able to: to assess operating conditions and to conduct technical and economic analysis of the efficiency of vehicles and transportation processes; to operate a formal technical and operational indicators of the quality of the rolling stock; motivated to pick up a rolling stock of automobile transport according to specific tasks and specific work environment; apply mathematical methods for operational transportation planning.

Summary of the subject: General characteristics of individual types of transport. The dynamics and balance of development of individual modes of transport. Operating conditions and performance characteristics of the rolling stock of automobile transport. Study of cargo flows and preparation of cargo for transportation. The selection of road freight rolling stock. Analysis of the efficiency of vehicles and transportation planning. The conclusions and recommendations.
