Мета вивчення дисципліни: to acquire skills in designing printed circuit boards for avionics equipment and systems using modern computer-aided design packages and be able to justify the design decisions made by the necessary calculations
Завдання: General competences: - GC 1. Ability to search, process and analyse information from various sources; - GC 4. Skills to carry out safe activities; - GC 5. Ability to develop and manage projects; - GC 6. Ability to apply knowledge in laboratory situations; - GC 7. Ability to identify, formulate and solve problems using various methods and tools; - GC 8. Ability to make informed decisions in normal and special situations and implement them correctly. Рrofessional competencies: - PC 5: Ability to develop aircraft avionics and ground systems using information technology. - PC 7: Ability to design avionics devices and systems using automated systems. - PC 8: Ability to describe and use modern technologies for the manufacture of avionics systems.
Learning outcomes: By the end of the study, learners are expected to be able to make basic design calculations: • know fundamentals of avionics equipment, development, be able to apply the system approach to the devices design and to implement while designing the principle of hierarchy; • know the construction of printed circuit boards used in Avionics; • be able to carry out the computer-aided design (CAD) of radio-electronic devices;

Summary of the subject: The concept of Avionics equipment construction. The circuit boards on dielectric substrates: characteristics, classification. Flexible backplanes: overall performance, design, peculiarities and application. Design calculations in printed circuit boards (PCB) development. Avionics equipment:classification, features, application and development. Fundamentals of unified engineering documentation system (UEDS). Radio-electronic units with surface-mounted devices (SMD). Typical design of contemporary onboard equipment. Thermal regime support. protection from electromagnetic external fields and environmental effects.
Опис: Topic 1. Basic concepts and classification of avionics systems. Topic 2. Operating conditions of avionics devices. Topic 3. General concepts of the design of electronic equipment Topic 4. Printed circuit boards - the basis of avionics equipment and systems. Topic 5. Design calculations in the process of designing aircraft. Topic 5. Design calculations in the process of designing the aircraft. Topic 7. ESCD, basic provisions. Topic 8: Application of surface-mounted elements in the design of electronic components of avionics equipment and systems. Topic 9: Protection of electronic devices from electromagnetic field. Topic 10. Protection of avionics modules from atmospheric influences: temperature and moisture. Heat dissipation by convection. Heat dissipation by convection.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control: laboratory reports, graphic calculation papers, oral interviewing, written tests - 45 points • Final control: control procedure - written and verbal examination 55 points;
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Мarks for the current control are given before the start of the session, the examination mark is given at the exam and announced to the student
