Learning outcomes: By the end of the study, learners are expected to be able to:
• know a common principles of the computer networks design, its protocols, basic networks technologies;
• know a specific features of the computer networks application for the mechatronic system information support;
• make arrangements of the fault sources discover and its repair;
• make arrangements of the practical network technology use for the instrumantion corresponded with proper application task.

• Basic Components of Data Acquisition System
• Introduction to the Information Technology;
Corequisites:
• Fundamentals of the Information Technology;
• Information Support of Instrumentation.
Summary of the subject: Computer Networks background (Internet, World Wide Web). Basic computer networks architecture. Data transmission medium. Error correction encoding. Phisical and channel protocols. Access methods. Open System Interconnection Standard. Network, transport, session, presentation and application levels. TCP/IP Protocol. Local networks technology. CAN Protocol, its application in mechatronic systems. Wireless networks. Global networks.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written report, oral polling (examination) (30%).
• final control (control event, test/credit), oral-writing form (70%).
