Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the discipline "Economics of foreign countries" is to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in analyzing and evaluating the features of the functioning and forecasting the development of the countries of the world, represented by various economic models, in the conditions of the modern transformation of the world economic system.
Завдання: general competences: INT. The ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of international relations in general and international economic relations in particular, as well as in the learning process, which involves the application of the latest theories and methods in the implementation of complex studies of global economic relations, is characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions; special (professional subject) competences: SK1. The ability to distinguish characteristic signs and trends of the development of the world economy, peculiarities of the implementation of economic policy and world integration / disintegration processes, including Euro-Atlantic integration; SK3. The ability to identify the peculiarities of the functioning of the environment of international economic relations and models of economic development; SK11. The ability to conduct research on economic phenomena and processes in the international sphere, taking into account cause-and-effect and spatio-temporal relationships; SK14. Ability to communicate on a professional and social level using professional terminology, including oral and written communication in national and foreign languages.
Learning outcomes: Learning outcomes: RN2. Communicate freely on professional matters in national and foreign languages orally and in writing, use economic terminology professionally. RN4. To systematize and organize the received information about processes and phenomena in the world economy; evaluate and explain the influence of endogenous and exogenous factors on them; formulate conclusions and develop recommendations taking into account the peculiarities of the national and international environment. RN8. To understand, highlight and describe new phenomena, processes and trends of global development, mechanisms and tools for implementing economic policy and world integration / disintegration processes, including Euro-Atlantic integration. RN10. To identify and single out the peculiarities of the functioning of subjects of international relations and models of their economic development. RN23. To be aware of the need for lifelong learning in order to maintain professional competence at a high level. Know2. Critical understanding of basic theories, principles, methods and concepts in education and professional activity. Com1. Conveying to specialists and non-specialists information, ideas, problems, solutions and own experience in the field of professional activity. AandR3. Ability to further study with a high level of autonomy. Teaching and learning methods Verbal, visual, practical. Lectures and practical classes: information-receptive method; reproductive method; heuristic method; problem statement method. Individual work: reproductive method; research method. Methods of evaluating the achievement of learning outcomes Current and examination control. Knowledge assessment methods: oral survey at the beginning of classes; current testing at the virtual learning environment; assessment of the student's activity during practical classes, clarifications and definitions, additions to previous answers; evaluation of submitted proposals, original solutions during the defense of control papers for correspondence education, etc. Examination: testing, oral examination.
Required prior and related subjects: -prerequisite: International Economics, International economic Relations; -co-requisite: International monetary and financial relations,International organizations and transnational corporations.
Summary of the subject: As a result of the study of the discipline, the recipient of higher education will know: general patterns of world economic development and their impact on national economies; theories of the development of national economies, their essence, types and evolution; models of economic development of the countries of the world and determinants of their competitiveness; approaches to evaluating the macroeconomic results of the functioning of national economies for the purpose of their further forecasting; key directions of the economic policy of the governments of foreign countries; will be able to: identify the country's place in the system of international economic relations, taking into account the general patterns and trends of development; analyze the economic potential of the country and the factors that determine it; to study the institutional and sectoral structure of the national; evaluate macroeconomic performance; to form recommendations for increasing the competitiveness of the national economy.

Assessment methods and criteria: - Current control (30%): written reports of individual work, oral questioning, work in virtual Lviv Polytechnik learning environment, presentations - Final control (70%): semester control (written-50% and oral-20% component)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control – 30 points. Oral survey, solving problems - 3 points (practical 2 - 1 point; practical 5 - 1 point; practical 8 - 1 point); Work at the virtual learning environment 1 point for each subject, taking into account correction factor (percentage of correct answers in the overall structure) - 10 points; Presentations of the results of independent work - 17 points (practical 1 - 2 points; practical 3 - 4 points; practical 4 - 3 points; practical 6 - 4 points; practical 7 - 2 points; practical 9 - 2 points). Examination control - 70 points. Written component 50 points; oral component - 20 points. In case of non-fulfillment of certain criteria from one or another form of knowledge control, the number of points awarded to the student may be reduced: - for an incomplete answer - 0.5 points; - for each incorrect answer - 1 point; - 2 points for unreliability of the provided information; - for insufficient disclosure of the topic - 1.5 points; - for lack of references to literary sources - 0.5 points.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
