Learning outcomes: - possessing sufficient knowledge in the field of public administration, which will enable to critically analyze the situation in the economic and political sphere and determine the key trends of its development; - obtaining knowledge for organizing communication, interaction and solving conflict situations in the process of formation and implementation of administrative services, with the help of modern information, communication and innovative technologies; - ability to analyze the state of the political system in Ukraine for the purpose of making a managerial decision and determining the ways of solving an actual political situation or problem; - knowledge and understanding of scientific principles underlying state administration; - knowledge of the basis of professionally oriented disciplines of specialty 074 "Public administration ": administrative management and management in the public sphere; - possessing modern technologies of public relations for operative and optimal solving problems of state administration; - knowledge and skills in the development and implementation of new innovative techniques in the field of public administration; - knowledge of the development of a proposal to improve the organizational structure and functioning of local administrations as part of a system of democratic governance based on the analysis of the institutional structures of the public sector of European states and Ukraine.

Summary of the subject: Master's qualification work is a qualification educational and research work of a student, which is performed in a higher educational establishment after mastering a theoretical course in an educational and professional program of master's preparation and passing relevant practice. The completion of the master's thesis is the final stage of education of students of the specialty "Public Administration and Administration" of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" and aims at: - systematization, consolidation and extension of theoretical and practical knowledge in the specialty and their use for solving specific scientific, managerial and social problems; - study of contemporary problems of public administration; - improving the skills of independent work and mastering research methods in solving the problems proposed in the work; - determining the level of analytical skills and the students' readiness to work independently in public administration bodies and institutions.
Assessment methods and criteria: The protection procedure consists of: a) short (up to 10 minutes) report of the author, which summarizes the purpose, content of the research and questions raised in defense, specific conclusions and suggestions presented in the paper, are answered to the comments of the supervisor, the reviewer. The basic provisions of the master's work should be presented clearly using a multimedia projector or illustrated with slides, posters, sets of handouts, demonstration materials for each member of the examination committee; b) discussion of the work during which the student answers the questions of the members of the examination committee. At the end of the defense, a final meeting of the examination committee is held, which evaluates the master's work of each student (on the ECTS scale): - "excellent (A)" is exhibited for a thoroughly performed work, in accordance with standard requirements in the case when the student freely owns the material of the chosen topic, operates scientific terminology, uses and gives a critical assessment of a wide range of scientific sources, carries out independent analysis of the processed material, uses modern theories and methods of scientific research, skillfully combines theoretical heritage with practice, and his work is performed in compliance with all necessary requirements; - "very good (B)" is exhibited for a thoroughly executed work, when the student freely owns the material of the chosen topic, uses modern theories and methods of scientific research, but operates at a sufficient level with scientific terminology; - "Good (C)" stands for thorough work, diligent preparation for protection, skillful presentation and knowledge of the material. However, in defense, the student admits some inaccuracies in the interpretation of particular problematic issues, has difficulty in their theoretical generalization or practical analysis, or has not used sufficient scientific sources; - "satisfactory (D)" is exhibited if the student has completed the work in accordance with the requirements, is oriented in this topic, but can not reasonably formulate conclusions, skillfully link theoretical generalizations with practice, has significant difficulties in the logical presentation of the studied tasks, not enough convincingly and confidently protects the work; - "enough (E)" is exhibited if the student has completed the work in accordance with the requirements, but there are errors in the design of the work, during the protection can not logically present the material; - “unsatisfactory (FX)” is exhibited when the work has significant deficiencies, made with a deviation from the established requirements, and its author is not guided in the issues of the topic, has not mastered at least scientific sources.
