Learning outcomes: –Analyze and solve complex problems and problems that require updating and integration of knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete / insufficient information and conflicting requirements, select and use the necessary scientific, methodological tools
–Understand the nature, principles and social role of architectural activities, provide responsibility for the effectiveness and consequences of decision-making in the field of architecture and urban planning in compliance with the basics of professional ethics
–Conduct research and / or innovation activities, apply traditional and innovative research methods
–To form theoretical principles of architectural design on the basis of systematization of data of natural, humanities and technical sciences, to apply theoretical-methodological and typological approaches to the decision of problems of formation and development of architectural and town-planning environment
–Apply knowledge of basic concepts, terms and meanings, the language of professional communication in the field of architecture and urban planning, adhere to the norms of academic integrity and the rules of compiling scientific texts
–Identify stages and directions of historical development of architectural phenomena, critically evaluate, study trends and processes in architectural theory and practice, reconstruction and renovation of architectural and urban objects, interior design
–To develop professional knowledge through self-education, participation in architectural and town-planning competitive designing, in scientific and technical actions

Summary of the subject: Science and research in the field of architecture. The purpose of scientific knowledge and means of achieving it. The specifics of architectural science and its role in architectural activities. The value of scientific research at the present stage of development of architectural space. Research methodology. Components and definitions of the system of scientific knowledge: theory, laws, problems, hypotheses, concepts and scientific methods. Terminology, basic concepts and definitions. Organization of scientific research. Identification of the main components and stages of scientific research. Organization of independent research activities. Features of scientific research in architecture. The structure of scientific knowledge in the architectural and urban planning field. General scientific research methods in the field of architecture and urban planning. Basic and applied research in architecture and urban planning. Methods of empirical and theoretical research in architecture and urban planning. Classification and typology as tools of scientific research in the field of architecture. Theoretical concept of scientific research of the architectural sphere.

Learning outcomes: PRN 1. Possession of knowledge of basic concepts, terms and meanings, the language of professional communication in the field of architecture and urban planning, adhere to the norms of academic and professional integrity
PRN 2. Ability to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge, skills, traditional and innovative methods of scientific analysis, tools of applied research (observation, interviews, questionnaires, analysis, modeling), software, modern IT technologies, information resources to effectively address current issues architectural and urban planning tasks in the field of housing and civil engineering.
PRN 7. Possession of knowledge of the regulatory framework of architectural and urban planning, the ability to critically evaluate socio-demographic, economic, environmental, ethical and aesthetic results of various options for solving current architectural and urban planning problems, and the consequences of violating state building codes and urban planning legislation.
PRN 14. Ability to conduct pre-project research in the design of apartment buildings and complex or innovative public facilities, to perform the functions of GAP in project activities.

Summary of the subject: Course work on the subject "Fundamentals of housing and public facilities (comprehensive research)" consists of lectures and practical classes focused on justifying the choice of topic and the gradual implementation of master's thesis on the educational-professional program 01 Architecture of buildings and structures. The purpose of the discipline is to train a highly qualified specialist in the design of innovative or complex apartment buildings and public buildings, as well as to obtain new information in this particular field of knowledge, its interpretation into specific applied recommendations. The course work analyzes the following main components of the study in a logical sequence: the relevance and social significance of the object of study; the state of research of the problem; systematization of available information and determination of the field of hitherto unresolved issues; purpose, tasks, methods, boundaries, subject and object of research; scientific hypotheses; structure and approximate schedule of master's qualification work.
The results of the work are tested by writing an article or report at a scientific conference.
Assessment methods and criteria: Ongoing control: assessment of the declared stages of work, the quality of writing an article or report to the conference, according to the chosen research topic.
Final control: differentiated test.

Apply software, modern IT technologies, information resources in the process of solving research and design architectural and urban planning problems. Understand the social role of architectural activities, provide responsibility for the effectiveness and consequences of decision-making in the field of architecture and urban planning in compliance with the basics of professional ethics. Achieve the implementation in a timely manner of all stages and stages of architectural and urban design, development of all sections of the complex project and explanatory note. Conduct research and / or innovation activities, apply traditional and innovative methods of designing and conducting research. Identify stages and directions of historical development of architectural phenomena, critically evaluate, study trends and processes in architectural theory and practice, reconstruction and renovation of architectural and urban planning objects, interior design. Summary of the subject: Topic 1 Substantiation of the research topic. Choice and substantiation of the research topic: review of sources on the topic, organization of work in scientometric information databases, principles of grouping and systematization of sources, methods of information retrieval. Topic 2 Fundamentals of research work. Substantiation of the urgency of the problem: interdisciplinary approach, social aspects of architecture. Purpose, object, subject, tasks of research: formulation of initial positions. The structure of the master's qualification work: division into three parts, the content of theoretical research, requirements for the description of the practical part. Topic 3 Research methods. Historical aspect of the problem: determination of historical preconditions of formation and development of architectural and town-planning objects, time limits of research. Review of analogues in world architecture: the choice of comparison criteria, compilation of information blocks. Systematization of data: processing of textual materials of paragraphs of the first section. Visualization of the material: diagrams and illustrations to the paragraphs of the first section. Preparation of the presentation: choosing one of the aspects of the study, preparation of the presentation. Topic 4 Research results. Speech-presentation: student reports, educational discussion, clarification of results. Conclusions to section 1: formulation of conclusions in accordance with the objectives of the study. Results of the study: design of the text of section 1, planning work on section 2
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: conducting an oral interview in practical classes, assessment of activity in the classroom, checking individual tasks, assessing the presentation of the student, participation in the discussion. Final control: test of course work, differentiated test.
