Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: - Intelligent Control Systems - Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems - Methods of Modern Control Theory Co-requisites: - Automation and Optimization of Processes in the Chemical and Food Industries. - Automation and Optimization of Energy Processes - Design of Software for Computer-Integrated Control Systems
Summary of the subject: The goal of the discipline is the study and application of the principles of development of computer-integrated control systems based on integration technologies in accordance with the recommendations of international standards; the criteria for choosing the structure of automated control systems, hardware and software for the implementation of control systems for technological processes and production are considered. An overview of industrial networks and protocols used in automated control systems is performed, widely used Modbus and Profibus protocols are considered, as well as technologies developed on the basis of industrial Ethernet, in particular Profinet technologies. OPC (Open Platform Communications) technology, OPC standards, principles of OPC operation, mechanisms of reading and writing process data using this technology are considered. The standards for the development of integrated automated control systems are considered, in particular, the basic models of ISA 88 and ISA 95 standards, the basic principles of process control in accordance with ISA 88 and ISA 95. The application of modern integrated software packages for automated design technologies are considered on the example of TIA Portal.
Assessment methods and criteria: Written reports on laboratory works, protection of reports on laboratory works, 50%, performance and protection of control work, 50%.
