Learning outcomes: knowledge the causes of systemic accidents and development, the physical nature and the qualitative picture of transients that occur during systemic accidents; • knowledge the principles of operation of different means of emergency control and the limits of their application; • knowledge the structure of the emergency control system, the principles of circuit and machine implementation of the means of emergency automation; • knowledge the methods of analysis of electromechanical transients; • ability to analyze the Power Sysytem state and identify modes that require emergency control; • ability to calculate the coordinates of the emergency modes necessary for further selection of ways of action on the Power System; to choose the principles of Power System operation in emergency situations and to determine their intensity; • ability to select asynchronous warning or eliminate automatic devices and calculate their settings.

Summary of the subject: Causes of systemic accidents and typical stages of their development. Elimination of consequences of accidents and restoration of the normal mode of Powr System operation. Objectives and tasks of emergency management. Purpose and types of emergency control. Means of emergency control. Principles of construction of devices of emergency automatic equipment. Automation of aversion of stability loss. Devices of automatic asynchronous mode warning (termination). Frequency limitation devices, frequency increase, voltage reduction, voltage increase, equipment overload. Coordination of means of emergency automation.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory work, oral examination, job control (30%) • final control - exam, written-oral form (70%)
