Learning outcomes: • ability to apply information and communication technologies and programming skills to solve typical engineering tasks; • ability to apply the acquired knowledge and skills at work in the industry and understand the need to comply with safety regulations when performing official duties; • ability to apply professionally profiled knowledge and practical skills to create new and at service of the existing control systems, relay protection and automatic equipment of electrical power systems and their components; • ability to apply analytical methods of analysis, mathematical modeling, and perform physical and mathematical experiments to solve engineering problems and conduct scientific research; • ability to critically analyze the basic system performance indicators and evaluate the use of technical solutions and equipment; • ability to integrate knowledge from other disciplines, apply a systematic approach and take into account non-technical aspects in engineering tasks and research; • ability to independently design the systems and their components, taking into account all aspects of the task; • ability to assess the advisability and feasibility of applying new methods and technologies in the tasks of synthesizing electric power, electrical and electromechanical systems; • ability to justify the choice of the method of solving a specialized task, critically evaluate the results and protect the decisions made.

Summary of the subject: • substantiation of relevance of the topic and purpose of work and connection of the master's work with scientific programs, plans, directions; • analysis of the latest achievements of science and technology regarding the object of activity; • formulation of the task, object and subject of research; • sound choice of research methods and tools; • substantiation of scientific novelty and practical significance of expected research results; • analysis of the input data and characteristics of the activity object; • developing new methods, models, techniques, devices, software, or refining existing ones; • study the properties of the object of activity on digital or (and) physical models using the theory of experiment planning; • evaluation of the feasibility, if necessary, of the possible implementation of the results obtained; • the development, where appropriate, of measures and means of occupational safety, health and environmental protection, subject to possible implementation of the results obtained; • conclusions in the form of a concise statement of specific decisions made, the results obtained, their comparison with the known ones and the prospects for their use and implementation;
Assessment methods and criteria: The quality of MCR protection is evaluated by the following criteria (100%): • completeness of disclosure of the topic, content and results obtained with conclusions; • validity of the responses to the reviewer's comments; • validity of the answers to the questions of the members of the SEC and those present at the meeting; • quality of speech during the presentation and discussion, including mastery of scientific and technical concepts and terminology.
