Learning outcomes: • knowledge of optimization theory of power, electrotechnical and electromechanical dynamical systems of by classical variational methods, as well as methods based on Bellman’s dynamic programming and Pontryagin's maximum principle; • the ability to synthesize coefficients of linear quadratic regulators by variational, Pontryagin's maximum principle and Bellman’s dynamic programming methods; • the ability to synthesize the optimal systems by methods of statistical dynamics, including Wiener and Kalman–Bucy methods; • the ability to apply information-communication technologies and programming skills for solving optimization problems, including MATLAB package for solving various kinds of Riccati equations.
Required prior and related subjects: • Automatic Control Theory, • Further Mathematics, • Theoretical Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering.
Summary of the subject: Mathematical models of dynamic systems. The dynamic properties of the systems in state-space representation. Synthesis of optimal dynamic systems with variational method. Synthesis of optimal electromechanical systems with Bellman’s dynamic programming methods. Pontryagin's maximum principle. Elements of statistical dynamics of technical systems and optimization of such systems based on the theory of Wiener and Kalman–Bucy.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral questioning, design paper (30%) • final control (control measure - exam): written and oral form (70%)
