Learning outcomes: • know the physical basis for the creation and use of nanomaterials; • be able to apply control measures parameters and properties of nanosized objects; • be able to critically assess the advantages and disadvantages and areas of possible use of new na-nomaterials and nanotechnology; • be aware of the current trends of theoretical and experimental research in the chosen field of tech-nical physics; • choose the best ways of introducing new ideas and use of the latest advances in nanotechnology.
Required prior and related subjects: • prerequisites: fundamentals of nanomaterials science, modern methods of physical research, solid state physics, physics and technology of nanosystems, physical materials science, physics of quan-tum-sized systems; • corequisites: molecular power devices of new generation technology and physics of nanosystems, molecular functional materials energy, implementation of master qualifying work
Summary of the subject: Scientific basis of nanotechnology. Physical causes the specific properties of nanomaterials. Me-thods for manufacturing nanomaterials. Investigation of structure and properties of nanoobjects. Nanocluster modification of carbon. Nanotubes. Nanoclusters and nanocrystals. Nanofilms, nano-wires and nanofibers. Biological and nanoscale polymer structures.
Assessment methods and criteria: • writing reports on individual work, oral examination, reference work (30 %); • final control (70% control measure, exam), written-oral form (55 + 15 %).
