Learning outcomes: • To know the basic principles of the international standard for project management ISO 21500; • Know the tools and techniques of project management with practical examples; • Know the basic skills sequence of project management processes and creation of project documents; • Be able to formulate and detail the preparatory stages of project management; • Be able to identify the goals, objectives and resources required for the development and implementation of projects in the field of welding; • To be able to organize the processes of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control and closing processes for the implementation of projects.

Summary of the subject: The main aspects and approaches of project management according to international standard for project management ISO 21500:2012. Introduction to project management: Project characteristics projects. Programs and project portfolios. Types and features of organisational structures. Environment project management: project Life cycle and product life cycle. The stakeholders of the project. The appointment of a project Manager. Process group initiating projects: Basic methods, tools, and equipment. Objective and strategy of the project. The criteria for success and failure of the project. Group planning processes: Developing the project management plan. Requirements gathering, definition content. Assessment resources operations. Estimate of the duration of the operation. Development of the schedule. Cost estimation, budget determination. Quality planning. Develop human resource management plan. Planning communications. Planning of project risk management, plan risk response project. Procurement planning. Process group execution/management: Managing the implementation of the project.
