Мета вивчення дисципліни: The formation of theoretical and practical knowledge in doctoral students about source studies of archeology of Ukraine as a normative educational discipline that studies the methods of studying monuments of the material culture of Ukraine, systematized according to thematic and chronological order, and aims to help doctoral students of historical specialties in mastering knowledge about complexes of archaeological sources from history countries, their content, representativeness and significance for historical research. The result of the study should be the formation of abilities and skills of scientific analysis of sources from the archeology of Ukraine, aimed at ensuring independent understanding of the laws of historical development, as well as deepening the historical knowledge of doctoral students through familiarization with complexes of archaeological and written sources from the archeology of Ukraine and their interpretation in scientific research.
Завдання: Flexibility of thinking. Mastering the skills of conducting analytical and experimental scientific activities; organization, planning and forecasting of scientific research results. Generation of new ideas (creativity), abstract thinking, ability to adapt to new conditions and situations; - professional competences: Ability to work in a research environment: understanding the context of the conducted research in history and archaeology; compliance with norms of behavior in interaction with other researchers - compliance with confidentiality, scientific ethics, respect for copyright ownership of information; compliance with standards of research practice; good performance.
Learning outcomes: 1. Ability to demonstrate systematic knowledge of modern research methods in the field of history and archeology; 2. Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the chosen field of research; 3. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the impact of historical processes and ethnocultural processes in archeology in a social and societal context; Deep grounded knowledge of the main historical events and processes: detailed knowledge of a special field of research in the context of the general scientific discussion and contribution to the individual field of research.

Summary of the subject: The study by doctoral students of the specialty "History and Archeology" of the academic discipline "Archaeological Source Studies" involves the acquisition of skills and abilities in the scientific analysis of sources from the archeology of Ukraine, aimed at ensuring independent understanding of the laws of historical development, as well as deepening the historical knowledge of doctoral students through familiarization with complexes of archaeological and written sources on the archeology of Ukraine and their interpretation in scientific research.

Monuments of the Slavic era (I millennium AD), as a source for studying the beginnings of Ukrainian statehood 8. Monuments of the Kyiv and Galicia-Volyn states as sources for the study of medieval society in Ukraine 9. Monuments of the Cossack era as a source for the study of early modern society in Ukraine.
Assessment methods and criteria: lectures, seminars, independent work; group work, presentations, etc.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Correctness, logic, reasonableness, integrity of knowledge; quality of knowledge – its completeness, depth, flexibility, systematicity, strength; correct use of conceptual and terminological apparatus; speech culture (literacy, logic and sequence of presentation); the level of meaningfulness of knowledge - the ability to formulate independent evaluative judgments and theoretical conclusions.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
