Learning outcomes: As a result of studying this course, future specialists should gain knowledge of the technology of operation of thermal power plants in the conditions of variable load regimes and have a clear idea of the real maneuverability of modern power plant equipment. The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students: general competences: ZK5: ability to apply knowledge in practice; ZK6: the ability to search and analyze information from various sources; ZK9: the ability to solve tasks and make appropriate decisions; ZK15: potential for further education. professional competences: FK1: basic knowledge of scientific concepts, theories and methods necessary for understanding the principles of operation and functional purpose of thermal energy systems and their equipment; FK3: basic knowledge of technical characteristics, design features, purpose and rules of operation of thermal power equipment; FK6: knowledge of modern technological processes and systems of technological preparation of production; FКS2.2: the ability to use knowledge and skills for calculation, research, selection, implementation, repair, and design of thermal energy systems and their components. As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following program learning outcomes: PR3: Understanding the interdisciplinary context of the specialty "Thermal Power Engineering". PR11: Have laboratory / technical skills, plan and perform experimental research in thermal energy using modern methods and equipment, evaluate the accuracy and reliability of the results, draw reasonable conclusions. PR12: To understand the key aspects and concepts of thermal energy, technology of production, transmission, distribution and use of energy. PR13: Understand the main methods of design and research in thermal energy, as well as their limitations. PR14: To have the skills to solve complex problems and practical problems involving the implementation of engineering projects and conducting research in accordance with specialization. PR15: Understand the main properties and limitations of applied materials, equipment and tools, engineering technologies and processes.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerekvizyty: mathematical modeling in heat energy, operation of heat energy facilities, industrial thermal power plants; Korekvizyty: installation and repair of TPP facilities, performance of bachelor's qualification work.
Summary of the subject: Thermal scheme of the heat generating unit. Energy resources, types of stations, CHP load schedules. Ways of covering power system load schedules and requirements for CHP operational characteristics. Modes of operation of power units. Load range of power units during operation in different modes. Partial loads of heat-generating equipment. Operation of drum and direct-flow boilers at partial loads. Operation of thermal power facilities in conditions of a sharply variable electrical load schedule. Transient processes in thermal power equipment. Factors that determine the reliability of boiler operation in transient modes. The main constructive solutions of chamber fuels, profile and layout. Aerodynamics of chamber fuels. Hydrodynamics in screens of steam boilers with natural circulation. Mode, structure of the steam-water mixture in the pipes and characteristics of the flow of the working medium. Diagrams of the water-steam tracts of the boiler. Hydrodynamics of boilers with natural circulation. Hydrodynamics of direct-flow boilers.
