- PC 1. Ability to identify features and trends, understand the nature, dynamics, principles of organization of international relations, public communications and / or regional studies.
- PC 2. Ability to analyze international processes in various contexts, including political, security, legal, economic, social, cultural and informational.
- PC 9. Ability to apply knowledge of the characteristics of countries and regions, features and patterns of global processes and the place of individual states in them to solve complex specialized problems and problems.
-PC 11. Ability to analyze the nature and evolution of international organizations, their place in the system of international relations, the main forms and prospects of Ukraine's cooperation with them
Learning outcomes: - LO03. To know the nature of international cooperation, the nature of interaction between international actors, the ratio of governmental and non-governmental actors in world politics;
- LO04. to know the principles, mechanisms and processes of foreign policy, interaction between foreign and domestic policy, definition and implementation in the international arena of national interests, the process of formation and implementation of foreign policy decisions.
- LO06. To know the nature and peculiarities of interactions of individual countries and regions at the global, regional and local levels.; determine the factors of influence of foreign policy participants;
- LO09. To investigate the problems of international relations, regional development, foreign policy, international communications, using modern political, economic and legal theories and concepts, scientific methods and interdisciplinary approaches, present research results, provide appropriate recommendations.
Required prior and related subjects: Re-requisites: EU in international relations, Globalisation and global problems of today
- Corerequisite: Foreign Policy of the West Europe, Foreign policy of Russia and the CIS countries.
Summary of the subject: The study discipline "Foreign policy of the countries of Asia and Africa, North and South America" is an integral part of the cycle of disciplines of the specialty "International relations" of the first level of higher education (bachelor), the purpose of which is to ensure the ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies or in the learning process, which involves the application of theories and methods of political science and the science of international relations; the formation of scientifically based ideas and systematized knowledge among students about the principles and main features of the foreign policy of Asian countries, the goals, interests and means of the countries of Asia and Africa, North and South America as participants in international relations in the outlined historical period, the specifics of the foreign policy priorities of each Asian country and of Africa, North and South America in the system of international relations of the post-bipolar world in the conditions of globalization.

Middle Eastern countries in regional and world politics. Countries of tropical Africa. South African Republic. The main trends in North America in the twentieth century. The United States in the system of international relations Priorities of Canadian foreign policy at the present stage The main trends in Latin America Integration processes in Latin America and their features The main vectors and features of the foreign policy of Latin America in the second half of XX - XXI centuries.
Assessment methods and criteria: Description of methods for assessing the level of achievement of learning outcomes
Oral and written surveys, discussion of problematic issues, analysis of reports, abstracts, presentations, essays.
Teaching methods:
-Lectures, practical classes (Teaching methods: information-receptive method, reproductive method, heuristic method, problem presentation method, etc.)
-Independent work - (reproductive method, research method)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (40%), oral examination, answers on seminars, writing essays.
Final control (60%): examination (three-level testing).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points - certified with an “excellent” grade - High level: the student demonstrates an in-depth mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline, systematic knowledge, skills and abilities of their practical application. The mastered knowledge, skills and abilities provide the ability to independently formulate goals and organize learning activities, search and find solutions in non-standard, atypical educational and professional situations. The applicant demonstrates the ability to make generalizations based on critical analysis of factual material, ideas, theories and concepts, to formulate conclusions based on them. His/her activity is based on interest and motivation for self-development, continuous professional development, independent research activities, implemented with the support and guidance of the teacher. 87-71 points - certified with a grade of “good” - Sufficient level: involves mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline at an advanced level, conscious use of knowledge, skills and abilities to reveal the essence of the issue. Possession of a partially structured set of knowledge provides the ability to apply it in familiar educational and professional situations. Aware of the specifics of tasks and learning situations, the student demonstrates the ability to search for and choose their solution according to the given sample, to argue for the use of a particular method of solving the problem. Their activities are based on interest and motivation for self-development and continuous professional development. 70-50 points - certified with a grade of “satisfactory” - Satisfactory level: outlines the mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline at the average level, partial awareness of educational and professional tasks, problems and situations, knowledge of ways to solve typical problems and tasks. The applicant demonstrates an average level of skills and abilities to apply knowledge in practice, and solving problems requires assistance, support from a model. The basis of learning activities is situational and heuristic, dominated by motives of duty, unconscious use of opportunities for self-development. 49-00 points - certified with a grade of “unsatisfactory” - Unsatisfactory level: indicates an elementary mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline, a general understanding of the content of the educational material, partial use of knowledge, skills and abilities. The basis of learning activities is situational and pragmatic interest.
