Learning outcomes: • to know the basic concepts and laws of the theory of linear and nonlinear electric circuits and methods of their analysis; • ability to apply mathematical methods and computer simulation tools to solve practical problems of electrical engineering; • to know the element base and principles of main functional units of electronics; • to carry out electrical measurement of electrical parameters and non-electric values by electric methods
Required prior and related subjects: • Calculus, • Theory of Complex Variable Functions; • Electricity and Magnetism; • Electrodynamics and Field Theory; • Fundamentals of Informatics and Programming.
Summary of the subject: Mathematical models of the electric circuit elements. Methods of calculation of complex DC and AC single-phase circuits. Nonsinusoidal electric circuits. Transient processes in linear electric circuits. Nonlinear electric circuits. Four pole elements. Elements of the semiconductor electronics. Single-phase rectifiers. Amplifiers of electrical signals. Operational amplifiers.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Individual task, written reports on laboratory course, oral questioning (30%); • final control (control event – exam): written and oral form (70%).
