Characteristics of the educational program: The curriculum includes on-campus classes (lectures, seminars, laboratory classes and practical classes) and independent studies. The programme provides up-to-date specializations which enable further professional and academic career, including electrical power plants, electrical systems and networks, electric systems of electricity consumption, power generation and distribution control systems, electromechanical automation systems and electric drive, electromechatronics. Training under this programme relies on the well-known principles and results of the contemporary research in the field of power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics and provides opportunities for gaining research skills required for academic career. Master's graduates majoring in this specialty can design, study, operate and maintain electrical power generation and distribution systems, electromechanical systems of industrial mechanisms, automated aggregates for electrical engineering systems and control systems for electric vehicles.
Gained competence: - knowledge of the special chapters of fundamental disciplines in the scope required for studying professionally oriented disciplines; - knowledge of the modern methods of control of electric power and electromechanical systems; - knowledge of the modern trends of electrical engineering development; - knowledge of the methods of analysis of electric power and electromechanical systems.
- to apply the knowledge and understanding of scientific and mathematical principles required for solving engineering problems and doing research in Electric Power Engineering, Electrotechnics and Electromechanics; - to demonstrate knowledge of the state of the art, development tendencies, most important solutions and latest technologies in Electric Power Engineering, Electrotechnics and Electromechanics; - to use in-depth knowledge of the field of specialization; - to show understanding of the effect of engineering solutions in the social, economic and ecological contexts; - skills in methods selection and modelling of the phenomena and processes in dynamic systems, as well as in the analysis of the obtained results; - to combine theory and practice, make decisions and develop strategies of activity for solving problems in the field of specialization taking into account human values, social, public and production interests; - skills in independent designing of a system and its elements, considering all the aspects of a set problem; - skills in efficient individual and team work; - skills in independent planning and carrying out experiments, and evaluating the results; - skills in application of information and communications technologies and programming skills for solving typical engineering problems; - application of the obtained knowledge and practical skills, ability to adapt the results of the scientific research when developing new and operating the existing electric, electrotechnical and electromechanical systems and their elements; - skills in applying the acquired knowledge and understanding for solving problems of synthesis and analysis of elements and systems typical of the field of specialization; - to apply the research skills according to the subject of specialization; - skills in search, analysis and critical evaluation of information taken from different sources.
