Learning outcomes: • ability to carry out search, to analyze and to critically estimate information on the last achievements in the field of development of the RPA digital devices; • knowledge of trends of development and the major new developments in the field of the RPA digital devices and also in adjacent areas; • ability to apply information and communication technologies and programming skills to solve problems related to the use of computer-aided of design of devices RPA devices; • ability to apply professionally profile knowledge and practical skills at design of RPA devices; • basic knowledge of the main normative legal acts and reference materials, existing rules and specifications, instructions and other documents for ensuring functioning of RPA devices and receiving the maximum profit during their application in electrical power system.
Required prior and related subjects: • Fundamentals of Power System Relay Protection and Automation; • Relay protection of electrical networks; • Electric part of power plants and substations; • Electrical networks; • Programming in Microsoft Visual Studio Environment.
Summary of the subject: Features of application of the computer-aided of design of devices of relay protection and automatic equipment of electrical power systems are stated, the principles of design of the RPA modern devices of elements of electrical power systems are considered.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning (30%) • final control - exam: written and oral form (70%)

Summary of the subject: Explanatory note: Analysis of source data and technical documentation. Selection of technical means of relay protection and automation. Development of relay protection and automation schemes using AutoCAD software. Graphic part: explanatory scheme, scheme of current circuits and voltage circuits, scheme of operational circuits of relay protection and automation.
Assessment methods and criteria: • explanatory note and graphical part of a course project, oral examination (30%) • final control - credit: the defense of the course project orally (70%)
