Learning outcomes: • ability to create computer models of dynamic systems of electric power, electrical engineering, and electromechanics using modern mathematical applications; • the ability to choose the level of complexity of the mathematical model by the task; • ability to study the behavior of typical electromechanical systems using computer modeling; • ability to use modern information and communication technologies, particularly Mathcad and MATLAB applications, to solve problems of analysis of the dynamics of controlled electromechanical systems.
Required prior and related subjects: • Theory of automatic control; • Theory of electric drive; • Electric machines; • Control systems for electric drives; • Electromechanical control systems.
Summary of the subject: Mathematical and organizational principles of computer modeling. Analytical and numerical methods for solving problems of dynamics of electromechanical systems. Understanding the features of building mathematical models of electrical systems, the properties of numerical methods for solving dynamics problems, and the basics of object-oriented techniques of building computer models. Modern methods of developing mathematical models. Application of the newest forms of realization of digital models, application of neural networks, fuzzy logic, and use of methods of thermodynamics. Modern means of computer modeling of electrical systems.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on the laboratory course, discussion, individual tasks (30%) • final test (70 %, control test): written-oral form
