Design of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structures

Major: Industrial and Civil Construction
Code of subject: 7.192.01.E.029
Credits: 3.50
Department: Building Constructions and Bridges
Lecturer: Khmil Roman, PhD, associate professor
Semester: 2 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Learning outcomes: 1. Design buildings and structures taking into account the characteristics of the construction object, definition optimal mode of its operation. 2. Apply knowledge of technical characteristics, technological features of product creation and implementation in the current specialization. 3. Use knowledge in practice, apply methodological tools of knowledge in the field of services on the design, installation and operation of buildings and structures, analyze the results of research in the context of existing theories, draw appropriate conclusions
Required prior and related subjects: finite element method in structural mechanics
Summary of the subject: Constructions of multi-storey industrial and civil buildings. Structural schemes of buildings. Main vertical structures, design schemes and loads. Frame systems. Flat reinforced concrete slabs of multi-storey industrial and civil buildings. Prefabricated reinforced concrete structures of single-storey industrial buildings (crane girders, columns, beams, trusses, arches, slabs); their calculation and design. Thin-walled large-span structure: design features, classification. Roof by cylindrical shells and prismatic folds. Roof with shells of positive and negative Gaussian curvature. Domes and vaulted structure: constructive decisions, principles of calculation. Suspension structures: types, design schemes, calculation. Structures of engineering structures: cylindrical and rectangular tanks; retaining walls; bunkers and silos; water towers: design solutions, features of calculation and design.
Assessment methods and criteria: Final control - exam work(100 points).
