Learning outcomes: • Know: - basic schemes of generating steam at nuclear power plants, the main requirements for steam generating systems; - the requirements for heat transmitters, their advantages and disadvantages when used in steam generators; - сonstruction schemes steam generators of nuclear power plants, their features when using different heat carrier; - design steam generators with water heat carrier: structure, destination and design of the individual elements, prospects; - design steam generators with of liquid metal heat carrier: destination and design of the individual elements, prospects; - design steam generators with gas heat carriers: destination and design of the individual elements, prospects. • Be able to: - compose steam generator section and determine the parameters of the heat carrier and working fluid within the sections; - determine the size of heat transfer surface and place the tube beams of in buildings; - determine the size and thickness of shells.

Summary of the subject: A brief description of steam generator: structure, principle, reliance. Thermal calculation steam generator. Principal thermal scheme of steam generator. Thermal power steam generator. Consumption of heat carrier. Materials of the main elements of steam generator. The calculation of wall thickness of the pipe heat transfer surface, hot and cold heat carrier collectors. Determining the heat transfer surface area and length of the tube evaporator section. Thermal calculation section of economizer. Heat transfer surface area, length and weight tubes of steam generator. Hydraulic calculation of steam generator. Jalousie separator.
Assessment methods and criteria: • current control (50%): execution of calculations and drawings • final control(50 %): oral examination (course project defense)
