Learning outcomes: By the end of the study learners are expected to be able to : communicate in a business foreign language in a familiar academic and general professional environment; • know the methods and techniques of negotiations using different ways of negotiation tactics; • apply modern information and communication tools and technologies to ensure effective professional communications; • discuss professional issues in order to reach agreement and understanding during foreign language communication, negotiations, meetings; • prepare public speeches on economic and financial issues using appropriate means of verbal and non-verbal communication; • find new textual, graphic, audio and video information on issues related to general professional activities contained in foreign language materials (both in printed and electronic forms), using appropriate search methods; • analyze foreign sources information to obtain data needed to perform general academic and professional tasks; • make presentations using appropriate technical and visual aids; • write different foreign language documents necessary for business communication relations.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: The level of knowledge B1+ , Foreign Language for Specific Purposes part 1, part 2.
Summary of the subject: Brands (The concept of brands. Brand management. Methods of market research. Features of international marketing). Travel (Organization of business meetings. Visit of a foreign partner. Planning a telephone conversation. Appointment of meetings). Changes (Exchange of information and discussion of business news. Problem solving. Reorganization of work. Changing the concept of work). The structure of the company and the organization of work (The structure of the company (firm, etc.), management levels, their functions and role in the enterprise. Activities of the firm’s departments and divisions. Business communication. Functions and powers of company employees. Company charter, business plan of the enterprise and its components). Advertising campaign (The role of advertising and its types. Advertising motto (slogan). Means of influencing the target consumer. Forming advertising. Advertising letter). Money (Operations with money, banking. Financial terms. Investments. The role of banks in the structure of the country's economy, modern technologies in banking. Checking learning outcomes. Testing.)
