Information System Design (курсовий проєкт)

Major: Information and Communication Systems
Code of subject: 6.126.02.E.056
Credits: 3.00
Department: Telecommunication
Lecturer: Dr.Sc., Associate Professor Mykola Beshley,
Semester: 7 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Learning outcomes: - Apply knowledge of fundamental and natural sciences, system analysis and modeling technologies, standard algorithms and discrete analysis in solving problems of designing and using information systems and technologies. - Argue the choice of software and hardware for the creation of information systems and technologies based on the analysis of their properties, purpose and technical characteristics, taking into account the requirements for the system and operating conditions. - Justify the choice of technical structure and develop appropriate software that is part of information systems and technologies. - Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign (English) languages. - Ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions.
Required prior and related subjects: The basics of network technologies Administration of information systems Technologies of information and communication networks Designing of software and hardware subsystems of IS Distributed information and communication systems Security of information systems
Summary of the subject: The course is devoted to the study of the design of modern information networks, which is necessary for engineers working in the field of information systems and technologies. The systems of regulatory documentation related to both the design of information communication networks and the development of telecommunications equipment are considered. The main component of the discipline is the consideration of the design of information systems and networks operating on the principle of packet switching: local area networks, territorial networks, next generation networks, design of IP address space. An overview of the principles of designing information network channels based on radio technologies, which are increasingly used in the access area, is presented.
Assessment methods and criteria: Testing on the topics covered (in a virtual learning environment). Defense of laboratory work in the form of a survey on completed reports. Examination control (written component includes extended answers to questions and problem-solving, oral component includes a survey on the list of issues to be studied and submitted for semester control.
