As a result of the discipline learning the student has to know:
• basic physical processes in semiconductors and properties of semiconductor devices;
• the principle, basic characteristics and parameters of various semiconductor devices and elements of integrated circuits;
• ways of development and modern problems of solid-state electronics.
Specialist should be able to:
• conduct research of physical processes in semiconductors and semiconductor devices;
• analyze options and properties of semiconductor devices and elements of integrated circuits, depending on the operating modes;
• conduct a mathematical analysis of semiconductor devices and explain physical phenomena.
Required prior and related subjects: prerequisites: Physics of semiconductors and dielectrics
Summary of the subject: Physics contact phenomena in semiconductors. Fixed physical phenomena in p-n-junctions. Physical bases of the metal-semiconductor comntact. Semiconductor diodes. Fixed mode of the semiconductor diode. Non-stationary physical processes in semiconductor diodes. Types of semiconductor diodes.
Assessment methods and criteria: Assessment methods and criteria:
• Current checkups: checkups on the practical and laboratory classes, tests and individual tasks (30%)
