Summary of the subject: The program of the study discipline "Lasers in Medicine and Biology" is designed for students of the Institute of Telecommunications, Radio Electronics and Electronic Engineering who are majoring in Electronics. The course program takes into account modern trends in the development of laser technology. The lecture courses study the main characteristics of different types of lasers used in medicine, the peculiarities of the interaction of laser radiation with biological objects and different types of effects (biochemical, bioelectrical, bioenergetic) that arise as a result of this interaction. During practical classes, students acquire practical skills in studying spectral characteristics and using lasers to carry out processes of biostimulation and destruction of biotissues. Students also learn to calculate the energy doses of laser radiation necessary for these processes and to select the necessary type of lasers.
